Bang! Bang!
The Empty Bottle-Chicago, IL
January 19, 2008

Saturday’s show featured Bang Bang with La Scala and Let’s Get Out of This Terrible Sandwich Shop. This was my first time at The Empty Bottle & absolutely will not be the last. I don’t know where to start, I loved just about everything about this bar, from the cheap $2 PBR to the random lost & found décor of photo booth pics and old truck & CPD doors hanging on the walls. The stage size was perfect and sound system was awesome!

The Dials
The Abbey Pub-Chicago, IL
January 18, 2008

Last night The Dials played The Abbey Pub for their 4th Annual “End of The World Party” Featuring Mannequin Men, The Dials, Vee Dee, and The Yolks. The Abbey Pub is always a good time. Food is tasty, especially for bar food. There is an upper level that is a lot bigger than you would think full of tables and lots of seating. The downstairs also has booths along the side with some additional tables. The only downfall was it was freezing. The windows let in a lot of the coldness we were experiencing last night. Definitely not a coat checking night. The first time I saw The Dials was almost a year ago at Schubas and I was hooked. The quartet is full of so much force you can’t help yourself but to dance. Last night was full of energy with a crowd of head bobs and pogo dancing. The collaboration of old school pop punk is a must see.

Three words: DIGITAL SOUVENIR PACKAGE!!! This is probably one of the BEST ideas I have heard in a loooong time ladies and gentlemen. I am an avid concert-goer and wish I could relive all of the concerts I attend. Linkin Park is now making that possible. Here is how Chester Bennington, lead singer of LP, explains this new feature on their upcoming tour:

“What will happen after that is you go to the show, you watch your show, enjoy that, come home, and in your e-mail inbox you’ll have a link to the show, to the MP3s of our set from the show you went to. In other words, you get to take home the hopefully memorable concert that you went to.” Read the rest of this entry »

I went to the Billboard Digital Music Live! in Vegas on Thursday January 9th. It was a last minute adventure I knew Live Hub needed to take, that and I needed a break from walking the CES grounds at the Venetian. A couple Executives here at Live Hub graduated from music school and worked for some of the biggest players in music. It’s been a couple years since we have worked for those big guns that shall remain nameless. I know I was more than curious to see how the music executives though they stood in an industry that has been turned inside out and upside down and nearly useless. Read the rest of this entry »
