Pearl Jam’s Bootleg Program

Pearl Jam

Sounds odd,but yes, Pearl Jam has a bootleg program. My question is, is it really a bootleg when the band records it for the fans? I digress, each show in 2008 will be available for high quality downloads and burn to order cds through the Ten Club, which is Pearl Jam’s Fan Club.

They have also teamed up with Verizon Wireless and releasing 3 mobile bootleg tracks available at www.pearljamconcerts.com.

There are 3 different options available for the bootlegs:

Digital Bootleg downloads (PearlJam.com)

Full concerts available in mp3 ($9.99) and FLAC ($14.99) per show

The shows will be up 2 weeks after the show and each show is DRM free

Made to Order Bootleg CDs (PearlJam.com)

This is the physical cd of the show that is mailed 3 weeks after the show

The cd is made of recycled materials and costs $16.99 per show

Mobile Bootlegs (pearljamconcerts.com)

Only 3 tracks will be available from each show that are released by Verizon’s V CAST

After each show fans can receive 1 free mobile track and the other 2 are available for purchase

FYI: Since Pearl Jam’s Bootleg program began over 3.5 million bootlegs have been sold.
