Ingrid Michaelson

Ingrid Michaelson will be performing on Wednesday, November 19th at Park West in Chicago in support of her new benefit project Be OK, which came out on October 14th. It is a collection of previously unreleased songs, covers, and live recordings. A portion of the proceeds will go to Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C), a groundbreaking initiative aimed at raising funds to accelerate cancer research. The album claimed the #1 Pop Album spot in addition to being the #3 Album overall on iTunes (it remains in the top 10 of each) the week it was released. Michaelson’s Park West show will be a stop on her national headlining Be OK tour. She will be selling a self-designed Be OK necklace at each stop, with all proceeds going to SU2C.

Ingrid Michaelson

If you are not familiar with her, Ingrid is the independent singer/songwriter who garnered loads of acclaim in the past year for her song “The Way I Am.” The track is off her debut album Girls And Boys, which has sold over 240,000 copies to date. Michaelson was first noticed after four of her songs were featured on the hit TV show “Grey’s Anatomy.” But even more memorable was when “The Way I Am” landed a phenomenal placement in an Old Navy commercial for the clothing company’s fall sweater campaign in 2007.

David Ford

David Ford will also be performing along with Michaelson on Wednesday, November 19th in Chicago. He will be promoting his most recent release, Songs For The Road. Ford is most known for his live show, where he loops the sound of multiple instruments, creating an illusion of an imaginary band backing him. Ford received much press this past spring for his live, one take video of the the record’s first single “Go To Hell” that you can watch here:

Make sure you check out Ingrid Michaelson and David Ford on 11/19 when they play Chicago’s Park West. Tickets are available here.
