SANTA MONICA, CA and Vancouver, BC, November 11, 2008 – Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF), the leading next generation filmed entertainment studio, has entered into a unique partnership with Wind-up Records, the leading independently owned and operated mid-size label in the U.S, the two companies announced today, signaling a continued expansion of Lionsgate’s music publishing operations.
The deal kicks off with five of Wind-up’s principal acts including the recent VH1 “You Oughta Know” artist Thriving Ivory, South African trio Civil Twilight, whose music has been featured on television series “House,” “One Tree Hill,” “Without a Trace,” and “Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles,” and emerging rock band Tickle Me Pink, currently touring with Hawthorne Heights. Additionally, Lionsgate will exclusively use music from Wind-up Records for its VH1 reality show “Scream Queens,” and prominently features Wind-up acts such as Seether in the upcoming action thriller PUNISHER: WAR ZONE, premiering December 5th, with the soundtrack dropping on November 26th.
