(Nashville, TN) March 12, 2009 – With an EP debut that’s turning heads at every turn and a run of wildly successful live performances creating a note-worthy buzz amongst both critics and fans alike, Nashville based roots-rockers The Deep Vibration announce a demanding schedule of high-profile showcase performances at SXSW, as well as a multi-city tour co-headlining with Roman Candle this Spring.

The Deep Vibration have exploded onto the music scene since signing to Nashville based Dualtone Music just last spring. All of the attention surrounding the release of their debut EP Veracruz suggests The Deep Vibration could be “a rock and roll legend in the making” according to American Songwriter Magazine—fitting for a band who was actually named by one of Rock n’ Roll’s most legendary pioneers, Lou Reed. So it should come as no surprise that The Deep Vibration continue to draw lofty comparisons to a long line of distinguished American rock bands including Wilco, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, My Morning Jacket and Ryan Adams, all the while succeeding in sculpting an original sound that’s as fresh as it is familiar.

It’s those rave reviews in credible tastemaker music publications like Paste, Uncut & Blender, along with the word of mouth buzz that have helped make The Deep Vibration one of the premiere new “it” bands to watch for at this year’s annual SXSW festival. The band already has scheduled performances with American Songwriter Magazine/American Spirit, Sin City, Next Big Nashville and KDHX’s Twangfest, and for an updated complete schedule of their appearances at SXSW, please check the band’s website at:

Immediately following their debut appearance at SXSW, The Deep Vibration will hit the road for a 30+ market tour sponsored by Paste and, beginning in the Mid-west on April 13th and concluding on the East-coast at the end of May. The band will share the stage with Indie/Rock-Pop quintet, Roman Candle, who will be promoting their soon-to-be-released new LP on Carnival, Oh Tall Tree in the Ear. In May, NYC based Motel Motel will join the East-coast leg of the tour as they promote the re-release of their debut LP New Denver which New York Press called “the best debut album of 2008,” so look for an announcement of all those confirmed dates coming very soon. The tour will hit major venues across the country including stops in Chicago, Madison, Minneapolis, Detroit, Cincinnati and Nashville—and will conclude with a highly-anticipated featured performance at the 9th annual Non-Commvention music conference sponsored by WXPN in Philadelphia the final week of May.

WXPN radio is just one of a number of influential radio stations who have shown enthusiastic support for the gritty-rock sound of The Deep Vibration. Longtime programmer at the nationally recognized leader in Triple A radio, Bruce Warren, says this of the band: “reminds me a bit of Wilco in their early days…The Deep Vibration are really classic traditionalists. Nick Lowe has a name for this: They call it rock”

And rock is precisely what they do, as the band continues to impress with every stop they make. Last week, The Deep Vibration wowed programmers and listeners with a live in-studio lounge performance at one of the leading online radio stations Afterwards one popular online music-blogger at commented: “they completely blew me away. Quite simply, it was one of the most confident, powerful and exciting live performances I’ve heard in a long time. Listening to The Deep Vibration reminds me about everything great about rock and roll.”

There was a similar response after the band performed for the staff at one of the premiere music magazines, Paste. “The band is absolutely compelling live,” said their online music-blogger Palmer Houchins.

Book-ending the Roman Candle tour, The Deep Vibration are doing key dates with other Indie-Rock buzz bands such as King Khan and the Shrines, Deer Tick, and Modern Skirts.
