I came here for the Arabian Nights Yelp event last night. The evening was filled with specialty drinks, Belly dancers, tarot card readers, henna tattooists & of course de-lish morsels.

Décor:  The restaurant was filled with vibrant red colors, comfy pillows, spectacular lanterns and chandeliers that glowed soft radiance. It is a very intimate space with a cozy vibe.

The Crowd: Full of Elite Yelpers of course! The crowd was friendly & interactive with the Belly dancers.

Service: Absolutely wonderful! The owner, Steven, stopped by our group to introduce himself & made sure we had plenty of drinks & bites to nibble on. The servers were fabulous. They were so pleasant & accommodating. The Belly dancers were outstanding! They even gave my friend a little lesson in how to shake her money maker!

Liquid Courage: Tizi was sampling their specialty Martinis, my fav was the Rockin Moroccan & the Cucumber Martini.

ROCKIN MOROCCAN

Vodka, lime juice, fresh mint, soda and a splash of Sprite

TIZI RITA

Tequila, blood orange puree, triple sec, fresh lime juice, sweet & sour

COSMOBLANCA

Vodka, pomegranate juice, triple sec, fresh lime juice

CUCUMBER MARTINI

Vodka, cucumber, mint, simple syrup, fresh lime juice, garnished with a sliced cucumber

ESPRESSO MARTINI

Vodka, baileys, crème de cacao shot of espresso, garnished with coffee beans

THE FIZI TIZI

Sparkling wine, pomegranate juice, garnished with a twist

Eats: The samples were plentiful and included a Brushetta like appetizer topped with ham, Crackers topped with scallops, olives stuffed with cheese & anchovies, crab stuffed tomatoes, goat cheese polenta, red bell peppers stuffed with short ribs, bacon wrapped raisin dates, but my fav were the tiny potato cups with a cheddar soup inside. I am a sucker when it comes to potato anything! mmm potatoes….

Sounds:  The sounds consisted of yelpers conversating and introducing themselves to different groups of people along with the Mediterranean music that played for the Belly dancers.

Parking: There is meter parking along the city streets or you can valet it!

Overall: I’d like to thank  Steven for the personal attention he showed our group. Also, a big thanks to Colleen C for introducing me to yet another great spot in the city! I had a wonderful time and can’t wait to bring my hubby here to experience the great ambiance that Tizi Melloul has to offer.
