Artist Info: Squirrel Nut Zippers (SNZ) is a jazz and swing band formed in 1993. The band released its first album Inevitable in 1995 and gained momentum and airtime on National Public Radio. In 1996, they released the album Hot which caught on with the mainstream airwaves and went platinum, selling more than 1 million copies and included the hit song “Hell.” This album was also one of the first enhanced audio discs (ECDs) ever released, which contains an interactive presentation created by filmmaker Clay Walker. The band has released several albums throughout its tenure, selling more than 3 million albums. SNZ reunited in 2007 after a six year hiatus, and continues to perform at clubs and festivals throughout the United States. The band is currently finishing a new live album You Are My Radio, due out later this summer.

Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers

Artist Info: Larry, Steve and Rudy Gatlin began performing more than 50 years ago in their hometown of Abilene, Texas. Led by brother Larry, the Gatlins were one of country music’s most celebrated groups throughout the ’70s and ’80s, known for their refined harmonies that come with being a family. During the ’80s, the brothers had more than 12 Top 40 hits, including “All the Gold in California,” “Houston (Means I’m One Day Closer to You),” “The Lady Takes the Cowboy Every Time” and “She Used to be Somebody’s Baby,” among others. In 1992, the brothers decided to stop touring and take a break, ending with The Adios Tour and accompanying album of the same name. Years later they were offered a gig in Dover, Del. that they couldn’t pass up and have been touring since. The Gatlins are set to release a new album, The Pilgrimage, on Curb Records this summer.

Artist Info: Gallagher is one of the country’s most predominant prop comics, particularly for his massacre of watermelons during his legendary Sledge-O-Matic scene. His fame thrived throughout the ’80s which included seven comedy specials on the Showtime network between 1981 and 1987 that repeated several times and eventually ran on Comedy Central. Famed props beyond the watermelon and mallet include cottage cheese, peanut butter, sausage and bananas, a trampoline couch and an adult-sized Big Wheel, among other items. Fans that sit in the first three rows of his shows are given plastic sheeting or ponchos to protect themselves from his Sledge-O-Matic and often times bring additional protection with them such as umbrellas and raincoats. In addition to his prop comedy, Gallagher is known for his “Gallagherisms” that often poke fun at political figures, current events and the randomness he notices in the world around him.

Blue Oyster Cult

Artist Info: The band that was to become Blue Öyster Cult (BÖC) originated in 1967 while its members, at the behest of music critic and future manager Sandy Pearlman, were attending college in Long Island, N.Y. After undergoing several name changes and a new vocalist, the band settled on Blue Öyster Cult in 1971 and Pearlman got them signed to Columbia Records. The band released its self-titled debut album in 1972 and began touring shortly thereafter with acts like The Birds and Alice Cooper, among others. While remaining on the road touring, BÖC released two more albums over the next two years, and were now headlining its own arena concerts. In 1975, BÖC released its first live album, On Your Feet or On Your Knees, and the following album Agents of Fortune in 1976 reached platinum certification and featured the hit song, “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper.” The band continued to tour and release albums, including 1981’s Fire of Unknown Origin that contained the Top 40 hit “Burnin’ for You.” Throughout the tenure of BÖC’s career, it has continuously toured and released albums, including the 2007 re-mastered editions of the albums Spectres and Some Enchanted Evening.

Artist Info: Loretta Lynn is The Coal Miner’s Daughter – from her life experience to best-selling album and hit single, to the title of her autobiography and on to the Oscar-winning film. This country music legend has been striking a cord with fans everywhere since the early ’60s. It was in 1967 that she released her first number one single “Don’t Come Home a Drinkin’ (With Lovin’ on Your Mind), and again in 1968 with “The Fist.” Since then, Lynn has continued to release number one and top ten hit singles and albums. She also received a Grammy award in 1971 for the song “After the Fire is Gone” which she sang with Conway Twitty, among which the duo released several other hit songs. Lynn has steadily released chart topping albums with the most recent being Van Lear Rose in 2004, that also won her two more Grammy awards. She is currently working on a follow-up album to her 2004 release as well as re-recorded version of her greatest hits. Both albums are due out later this year.

Artist Info: Michael Schenker Group (MSG) was founded in 1979 by former Scorpions and UFO lead guitarist Michael Schenker. This hard metal rock band is all about its killer guitar riffs and melodic, progressive undertones. The band has released several albums and grown to be a household name in the heavy metal world. The current “In the Midst of Beauty – World Tour” consists of Schenker on guitar, original MSG band member Gary Barden back on vocals, Chris Slade on drums, Wayne Findlay on guitar and keyboards and Robbie Crane on bass.

 Faster Pussycat and Bang Tango

Genre: Metal Rock

Venue: Chrome Showroom

Date: Saturday, June 13, 2009, at 8 p.m.

Artist Info: Glam metal band Faster Pussycat is known amongst many for their cult following stemming from their eponymous debut album in the late ’80s. The band released Wake Me When It’s Over in 1989, which earned gold status and included the Top 40 hit song “House of Pain.” The band released one more album, and parted ways shortly thereafter. In 2001, Faster Pussycat reformed with original lead singer Taime Downe at the helm.

 Bang Tango is a glam metal band spliced with a bit of funk. The band released multiple albums throughout the late ’80s and early ’90s, including Psycho Café that featured the single “Someone Like You.” After taking a hiatus, the band got back together in 1998 and released its greatest hits album, Greatest Tricks.

 Todd Rundgren

Genre: Rock

Artist Info: Todd Rundgren is an American musician, singer, songwriter and record producer who gained fame in the ’70s as a power pop turned progressive rock artist. Solo hits of Rundgren’s include “We Gotta Get You a Woman,” “I Saw the Light” and “Hello It’s Me.” In 1974, Rundgren spearheaded and served as frontman for Utopia, a progressive rock band with a large ensemble including synthesizers, multiple keyboards and brass. Utopia produced hits such as “Set Me Free” and “The Very Last Time.” In 2005, Rundgren joined Boston-based band The Cars as lead singer for The New Cars. Throughout 2006, The New Cars performed private shows for industry professionals, made media appearances for outlets such as “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and held a 2006 summer tour with the also newly reformed Blondie. While with The New Cars, they released the album The New Cars: It’s Alive and the single “Not Tonight.” Rundgren returned as a solo artist and in 2008 released the rock album Arena that he performed live and in its entirety before releasing on disc. A true visionary, Rundgren is viewed by many as the godfather to the marriage of music and multimedia.
