Beat the heat with Station Casinos’ cool June house entertainment

LAS VEGAS – June 5, 2009 – Station Casinos continues to entertain locals with a number of new weekly acts and shows at several of its properties in addition to its trademark bands that the city has grown to love.

New shows include the King Mixers playing British rock from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s every Saturday at Sunset Station. Stetzen returns for a second month, playing country rock hits at Texas Station every Thursday and Rock This Town continues to rock Palace Station on Tuesdays. Most shows are free or will be noted below if they have a minimal cover charge. Coming this month are:

Green Valley Ranch

Every Sunday:

  • Ovation – The high-energy cover band DrZhivegas will rock the Ovation stage with its DrZRocks show. Doors open at 8 p.m. and guests must 21 years and older. The show will be dark on June 14 and 28.

Every Tuesday

  • Quinn’s Irish Pub – Trivia night from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Guests must be 21 years and older.
  • Hank’s Fine Steaks & Martinis – Michael Grimm on piano from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Every Wednesday:

  • Ovation – Yellow Brick Road (YBR), the Las Vegas-based classic rock tribute band, takes the stage at 9 p.m. Unlike most tribute bands that generally pay homage to one artist only, YBR takes on the entire classic rock/pop spectrum. Guests must be 21 years and older. Ovation will be dark on June 24.
  • Hank’s Fine Steaks & Martinis – Michael Grimm on piano from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Every Thursday:

  • Ovation – The Lon Bronson All-Star Band performs high-energy rock from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. with its 14-piece band. This show is known for bringing in special guest artists, so be sure to stop by. Guests must be 21 years and older.
  • Hank’s Fine Steaks & Martinis – Michael Grimm on piano from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Every Friday:

  • Ovation – The Michael Grimm Band performs from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Grimm performs his personal blend of music where a country boy melds soul and rock accompanied by his 12-piece band. Ovation will be dark on June 19. On June 26, audiences will learn the story behind the song as Nashville Unplugged performs at 8 p.m. in Michael Grimm’s place.
  • Ovation – Steel Panther performs from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. This ’80s glam metal parody band demonstrates their spirit and love of everything rock ‘n’ roll with their colorful repartee, loud costumes and graphic body language. Steel Panther will not perform on June 12, as the Aerosmith cover band Aeromyth will perform in its place. Guests must be 21 years and older.
  • Quinn’s Irish Pub – Darby O’Gill & The Little People take the stage from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Guests must be 21 years and older.
  • Hank’s Fine Steaks & Martinis – Peter Love on piano from 6:30 p.m. to midnight.

Every Saturday:

  • Ovation – The Michael Grimm Band performs from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Grimm performs his personal blend of music where a country boy melds soul and rock accompanied by his 12-piece band. The band will not perform on June 13 as Ovation will host a UFC viewing party for the Franklin vs. Silva fight at 6 p.m. Cover is $10 which includes the first drink. Guests must be 21 years and older.
  • Ovation – Sin City Sinners perform from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. This Las Vegas-based band is known for its original tracks and hard rock covers. Each week the band brings in celebrity guests to perform with them. The June schedule features: Stacey Q of Two of Hearts on June 6, Annabella Lwin of Bow Wow Wow on June 13, Eddie Ojeda of Twisted Sister on June 20 and Dizzy Reed of Guns ‘N Roses on June 27. Guests must be 21 years and older.

  • Chrome Showroom – The Spazmatics lends its geeky charm to the ultimate ’80s experience with doors at 9 p.m. Guests must be 21 years and older.  
  • 4949 Lounge – Enjoy the sweet taste of hookah by Vegas Hookah from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. and a DJ spinning the night away from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.

Every Saturday:

  • Chrome Showroom – Rock Tribute Series featuring tribute bands of famed rock artists on a rotating schedule with doors at 9 p.m. The June schedule features: Kiss Army tribute to Kiss on June 6, Damage Inc. tribute to Metallica on June 13, Dead or Alive tribute to Bon Jovi on June 20 and Wild Child tribute to The Doors on June 27. This show is 21 years and older.
  • 4949 Lounge – Enjoy the sweet taste of hookah by Vegas Hookah from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. and a DJ spinning the night away with Go Go dancers from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.

Red Rock Resort

Every Sunday:

  • Lucky Bar – DJ Creative spins music from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Guests must be 21 years and older.

Every Thursday:

Every Friday:

The June schedule features: Vince Priester Sax Experience on June 5, Windy on June 12, Robezz and the Jazz Train on June 19 and Knights of Monte Carlo on June 26. Guests must be 21 years and older.

  • Rocks Lounge – On June 6 and 20, DrZhivegas gets audiences dancing with its rock ‘n’ roll meets dance club funk sound. Doors are at 10 p.m. Guests must be 21 years and older. Rocks Lounge will be dark on June 13 and 27.

Every Thursday:

  • South Padre – Stetzen performs country rock from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Guest must be 21 years and older.

Every Friday:

  • A-Bar – Darrin Michaels plays jazz from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
  • South Padre – Texas Blues Series from 9 p.m. to midnight featuring some of the country’s best blues musicians on a rotating schedule. The June schedule features: Coco Montoya on June 5, Zac Harmon on June 12, Shane Dwight on June 19 and Kenny Neal on June 26. Guests must be 21 years and older.

Every Saturday:

  • A-Bar – Darrin Michaels plays jazz from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
  • South Padre – Trumpeter and vocalist Skip Martin, formerly of Kool & the Gang and The Dazz Band, performs dance music from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. A DJ will spin between sets from 9 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. to midnight. On June 20, Wolf creek will perform in his place from 9 p.m. to midnight. Guests must be 21 years and older.

Boulder Station

Every Sunday:

  • The Railhead – Latin Night with Noche Nortena featuring El Moreno Carrillo Y Su Banda Tierra Sagrada, delivering the best in regional Mexican music with doors at 8:30 p.m. The music flows leading up to the show and between sets with a DJ spinning the best Latin tunes until 2 a.m. This show is 21 years and older and has a $5 cover charge.
  • The Broiler – Beginning June 14, enjoy a relaxing end to the weekend with live piano by Luke Doubravsky during brunch hours, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Every Thursday:

  • The Railhead – Jerry Tiffe brings back the days of swing from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., bringing folks out of their seats and onto the dance floor.
  • The Railhead – Boulder Blues from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. featuring some of the country’s best blues musicians on a rotating schedule. The June schedule features:  Zac Harmon on June 11, Shane Dwight on June 18 and Kenny Neal on June 25. Guests must be 21 years and older.
  • Kixx Bar – Shawn Eiferman, an acoustic power duo with a Foo Fighters meets Simon & Garfunkel sound, performs from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Guests must be 21 years and older.

Every Friday:

  • The Railhead – Sin City Sinners perform from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. This Las Vegas-based band is known for its original tracks and hard rock covers.   • The Railhead – Yellow Brick Road (YBR) performs from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. This Las Vegas-based classic rock tribute band takes on the entire classic rock/pop spectrum with an emphasis on details and inflections. On June 6, Unskinny Bop performs and on June20 Queen Nation, the ultimate Queen tribute, performs fro from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. in YBR’s place.
  • Kixx Bar – Van De Guzman plays the best hits of yesterday and today from 7 p.m. to midnight with uncanny vocals and keyboard skills. Guests must be 21 years and older.

Aliante Station

Every Wednesday:

  • Access Showroom – Jerry Tiffe brings back the days of swing from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., bringing folks out of their seats and onto the dance floor. Cover for the show is $5 or free for those with a Boarding Pass. Show will be dark June 24.

Every Friday:

  • Access Showroom – Yellow Brick Road (YBR) performs with doors at 10 p.m. This Las Vegas-based classic rock tribute band takes on the entire classic rock/pop spectrum with an emphasis on details and inflections. On June 12, Van Halen tribute band Fan Halen performs and Queen tribute band Queen Nation performs June 19 in YBR’s place. All shows are 21 years and older. 
  • ETA Lounge – A live DJ spins music from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.

Every Saturday:

Tickets for the improv show are $29.95 plus tax and applicable fees for non-locals and $9.95 plus tax and applicable fees for locals. The comedy jam is free. Guests must be 21 years or older.

Every Tuesday:

  • Cerveza Cantina – Singer-songwriter Michael Soli & Friends perform from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Every Saturday:

  • Cerveza Cantina – Singer-songwriter Michael Soli & Friends perform from 8 p.m. to midnight.

All shows are free of charge unless otherwise specified. Entries to the shows are first-come, first-served and based upon venue capacity.
