Over the years, Davis has released eight albums, many of which have received national recognition and awards. In 2006 he released Skunkmello, which included hits such as “Natural Born Eas’ Man,” “It Takes Love to Make a Home” and “Blackberry Ramble.” Skunkmello received three Blues Award nominations and rave reviews from jazz and blues magazine DownBeat.
Davis’ newest album, Sweetheart Like You, was released in February 2009 and is a mix of acoustic blues and soulful sounds. For this album Davis collaborated with accomplished producer John Platania who has worked with other notable performers such as Van Morrison, Bonnie Raitt and Chip Taylor. The album features his unique takes on classic hits like “Can’t Be Satisfied” and “Follow Me Down.” Inspired by his mother, “Words to My Mama’s Song,” bring a heartfelt personal touch to the album.
