Rock your way to Station Casinos this August

LAS VEGAS – July 31, 2009 – Station Casinos continues to entertain locals with a number of new weekly acts and shows at several of its properties in addition to its trademark bands that the city has grown to love.

New entertainment includes Third Town every Friday night at Aliante Station performing country rock originals. Guests take over the stage every Thursday night at Aliante during karaoke. The new pool party at Green Valley Ranch, EO Fridays, continues through August featuring live music and drink specials. The King Mixers continue to rock audiences at Sunset Station with their fun costumes, naughty banter and British rock ranging from Kings of Leon to The Beatles. Most shows are free or will be noted below if they have a minimal cover charge. Coming this month are:

Every Tuesday

* Quinn’s Irish Pub – Trivia night from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Guests must be 21 years and older.
* Hank’s Fine Steaks & Martinis – Michael Grimm on piano from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Every Wednesday:

* Ovation – Yellow Brick Road (YBR), the Las Vegas-based classic rock tribute band, takes the stage at 9 p.m. Unlike most tribute bands that generally pay homage to one artist only, YBR takes on the entire classic rock/pop spectrum. Guests must be 21 years and older.
* Hank’s Fine Steaks & Martinis – Michael Grimm on piano from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Every Thursday:

* Ovation – The Lon Bronson All-Star Band performs high-energy rock from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. with its 14-piece band. This show is known for bringing in special guest artists, so be sure to stop by. Guests must be 21 years and older.
* Hank’s Fine Steaks & Martinis – Michael Grimm on piano from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Thursday, Aug. 6:

* Quinn’s Irish Pub – Civilian performs from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Every Friday:

* The Backyard – DrZhivegas gets audiences dancing with its rock ‘n’ roll meets dance club funk sound during EO Fridays. Doors open at 5 p.m. and DrZhivegas performs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a DJ spinning before and after. Guests must be 21 years and older.
* Ovation – The Michael Grimm Band performs from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Grimm performs his personal blend of music where a country boy melds soul and rock accompanied by his 12-piece band. The band will not play on Aug. 14 as Songwriter Carolyn Dawn teaches the audience the story behind the song in Nashville Unplugged at 8 p.m.
* Ovation – Steel Panther performs from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. This ’80s glam metal parody band demonstrates their spirit and love of everything rock ‘n’ roll with their colorful repartee, loud costumes and graphic body language. Guests must be 21 years and older.
* Quinn’s Irish Pub – Darby O’Gill & The Little People take the stage from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Guests must be 21 years and older.
* Hank’s Fine Steaks & Martinis – Peter Love on piano from 6:30 p.m. to midnight.

Every Saturday:

* Ovation – The Michael Grimm Band performs from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Grimm performs his personal blend of music where a country boy melds soul and rock accompanied by his 12-piece band. The band will not perform on Aug. 8 as Ovation hosts a UFC viewing party for the Penn vs. Florian fight at 6 p.m. as well as Aug. 29 for the Couture vs. Nogueira fight at 6 p.m. Cover is $10 and includes the first drink. The band will also not perform on Aug. 22 as Richard Cheese is headlining. Guests must be 21 years and older.
* Ovation – Sin City Sinners perform from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. This Las Vegas-based band is known for its original tracks and hard rock covers. Each week the band brings in celebrity guests to perform with them. The August schedule features: Bruce Kulick of KISS and Louie Merlino of Beggars & Thieves on Aug. 1, Eric Dover of Slash’s Snakepit, Jellyfish and Alice Cooper on Aug. 15, Slim Jim Phantom of Stray Cats on Aug. 22 and Phil Lewis of L.A. Guns and Mickey Finn of Jetboy on Aug. 29. On Aug. 8, the Sin City Sinners host the official LIT afterparty with surprise guests. Guests must be 21 years and older.

The August schedule features: Savoy Brown on Aug. 7, Ronnie Baker Brooks on Aug. 14, Saffire on Aug. 21 and Rod Piazza & The Mighty Flyers on Aug. 28. Guests must be 21 years and older.

* The Railhead – Latin Night with Noche Nortena featuring El Moreno Carrillo Y Su Banda Tierra Sagrada, delivering the best in regional Mexican music with doors at 8:30 p.m. The music flows leading up to the show and between sets with a DJ spinning the best Latin tunes until 2 a.m. This show is 21 years and older and has a $10 cover for men and $5 cover for women.

* The Railhead – Jerry Tiffe brings back the days of swing from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., bringing folks out of their seats and onto the dance floor. The show will be dark Aug. 6.
* The Railhead – Boulder Blues from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. featuring some of the country’s best blues musicians on a rotating schedule. The August schedule features: Savoy Brown on Aug. 6, Ronnie Baker Brooks on Aug. 13, Saffire on Aug. 20 and Rod Piazza & The Mighty Flyers on Aug. 27. Guests must be 21 years and older.
* Kixx Bar – Van De Guzman plays the best hits of yesterday and today from 7 p.m. to midnight. Guests must be 21 years and older.

Guests must be 21 years and older.
* Kixx Bar – Van De Guzman plays the best hits of yesterday and today from 7 p.m. to midnight with uncanny vocals and keyboard skills. Guests must be 21 years and older.

Saturday, Aug. 1:

* The Railhead – John Zito & Electric Church takes the stage at 8:30 p.m. Guests must be 21 years and older.

* Poolside – Celebrate Hawaiian culture during the Island Pool Pa’ina Weekend featuring live music, hula dancing and island barbecue from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Cover is $15 and guests must be 21 years and older after 7 p.m.

* Access Showroom – Jerry Tiffe brings back the days of swing from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., bringing folks out of their seats and onto the dance floor.

* Cerveza Cantina – Singer-songwriter Michael Soli & Friends perform from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Every Saturday:

* Cerveza Cantina –DJ Kayle spins from 8 p.m. to midnight.
