Puddle Of Mudd Release “Spaceship” on iTunes

Posted by Yvette Casillas On October - 31 - 2009

Unveil Volume 4: Songs In The Key Of Love & Hate Album Cover

Following the announcement of their forthcoming December 8th album release and the premiere of their new single “Spaceship,” rockers Puddle of Mudd have unveiled the cover to the highly anticipated Volume 4: Songs In The Key Of Love & Hate. Volume 4 delivers the same savvy lyrics that fans have come to expect since the band’s multi-platinum debut, Come Clean, weaving subtle innuendo and not-so-subtle lyrical wordplay around vocal hooks so thick they even seem to make life’s more sour realities easier to swallow.

“Spaceship,” the Brian Howes- (Hinder, and most recent POM album Famous) produced lead single off the new album, is now available for purchase at digital retailers. Visit  PuddleOfMudd.com for more information including new tour dates and grab the track on iTunes now.

Posted by Yvette Casillas On October - 31 - 2009

Brooklyn-based Nouveau Romantics Dead Leaf Echo announce a very special new date at Monkeytown

featuring an experimental, ambient set with remixes unlike any show they’ve played before.

Dead Leaf Echo NYC Date
Nov 13 – Monkeytown – Brooklyn, NY

More national dates to be annouced soon!

Of their CMJ set at Fontanas, the Deli said:

Dead Leaf Echo followed with a nice transition into shoegaze bliss. Lit only by a screen projector, the shadowed musicians produced a beautiful, intricate atmosphere that echoes 4AD bands. I regret not being able to see the band’s full set as I immensely enjoy their swooning, gorgeously engineered songs.

Check out the layered beauty of “Half-Truth” HERE.

Only months after their last experiments in high-art on Pale Fire, featuring the epic title track mixed by Ulrich Schnass, Dead Leaf Echo has teamed up with John Fryer of 4AD fame to mix their latest evocative release Truth.

The Best Thing Since Play-Doh: I Fight Dragons!!

Posted by Jessica Emmerich On October - 31 - 2009

Happy Halloween Everyone!

I fight Dragons

I was sucked in the moment as I heard they wore superhero t-shirts and used a Nintendo System in their show. I also fell in love with these guys as soon as they said they release their music for free(most of the time). I am so happy to hear small bands that come to their senses with music. They know they need to get people to hear it before people would be interested in buying it.

Puddle Of Mudd Ready Dec 8th Release

Posted by Yvette Casillas On October - 30 - 2009

PUDDLE OF MUDD ANNOUNCE RELEASE OF VOLUME 4: SONGS IN THE KEY OF LOVE & HATE  ON DECEMBER 8

NEW SINGLE, “SPACESHIP” AVAILABLE ON AMAZON.COM & ITUNES NOW

Multi-platinum Flawless/Geffen recording artist, Puddle Of Mudd, release their fourth studio set, VOLUME 4: SONGS IN THE KEY OF LOVE & HATE, on December 8. The album follows the phenomenal success of POM’s third release, 2007’s Famous. Famous proved the band’s consistency to deliver to not only their fans, but on all business platforms. One single off of Famous, “Psycho,” earned Billboard Magazine’s highest honors – #1 Mainstream Rock Song of the Year, #4 Hot Modern Rock Song of the Year, as well as Mainstream Rock #2 Artist of 2008. Radio and Records posted “Psycho” as the #1 Rock Song of 2008, #2 Active Rock Song of the Year, and POM earned their Number 3 status for Rock Artist of the Year.

Recording Volume 4 in Vancouver & Los Angeles, Puddle Of Mudd (POM) smartly re-enlisted the talents of Brian Howes, who produced the aforementioned Famous and John Kurzweg, who produced 2001’s album, Come Clean. “Even though we hate messing with success, we felt adding newcomer Brain Virtue to the producer mix would be a welcome change,” say frontman Wes Scantlin. “What we got is 10 tracks of exactly what we were looking for,” adds Scantlin.

NICO VEGA ON TOUR NOW; DATES INCLUDE SHOWS WITH CHEVELLE, AND INWARD EYE

Posted by Yvette Casillas On October - 30 - 2009

LOS ANGELES TRIO TOURING IN SUPPORT OF ITS SELF-TITLED MYSPACE RECORDS DEBUT

BAND’S LATEST SINGLE “GRAVITY” BUZZING AT ALTERNATIVE RADIO

October 26, 2009—L.A. buzz band Nico Vega is currently on a headlining tour, including a homecoming Halloween show at Club Nokia with rockers Chevelle, before jumping on tour with Inward Eye, and Neon Trees.

As the trio’s latest single “Gravity” is taking off on alternative radio, the group will be filming the song’s video in November.

The band (singer Aja Volkman, guitarist Rich Koehler and drummer Dan Epand) has made a name for itself thanks in part to its blistering and in-your-face live show highlighted by dynamic frontwoman Aja Volkman’s volatile stage presence. Filter described the band as “a musical, mythical beast” while 944 Magazine heralded them as a “brutal love triangle of rock, funk and blues” and congratulated the trio for its “wide musical scope, which stretches from stomach-scraping soul to unrelenting rage.” The NY Post called Aja “insanely spirited,” comparing her to Janis Joplin and Karen O.

Having worked with producers Linda Perry (Pink, Gwen Stefani) and Tim Edgar (Earl Greyhound), and mixer Tchad Blake (Pearl Jam, Elvis Costello, Peter Gabriel), Nico Vega channels a classic swagger a la Led Zeppelin and adds soaring, soulful vocals somewhere between Fiona Apple and PJ Harvey.

Over the summer the band’s song “Beast” was featured in the horror film The Collector and now Aja is preparing to leap headfirst onto the silver screen herself, making her acting debut co-starring in the upcoming Dane Cook movie Answers To Nothing where her shockingly gritty scenes will definitely not be forgotten anytime soon. Aja will play Tara, the mistress who is also a musician, and Nico Vega will sport cameos in the movie.
