Lady Gaga is spending her New Year’s Eve in Miami and it’s the hottest ticket in town. Gaga fans are dishing out nearly $25,000 for a table at her show tonight according to NewYearseve.com. The total tonight’s show has taken in, are you ready…a cool $1,000,000.

Speaking of January for GaGa fans in Chicago, the show has been moved to the Rosemont Theatre instead of The Chicago Theatre, and its all about the bottom line. If you didn’t get a chance to purchase tickets the first time around you can now.

James Owen Sullivan, or as many of his fans knew him as “The Rev,” was found dead at his home in California at the very young age of 28 on Monday.

The initial autopsy reports are in and are inconclusive. The Coroner’s office is waiting for the toxicology report to determine what killed him. The world is still waiting for Brittnay Murphy’s toxicology report, and like Britney’s, it’s expected to take weeks. Until then A7X fans must wait to see what took the life of their favorite drummer.

Talk about being a big part of Chicago History! The building that houses Lincoln Hall first opened in 1912 as the Fullerton Theatre. Since then, the building has housed a garage and machine shop, the Crest Theatre and, most recently, the 3 Penny Cinema. In 1934, FBI sharpshooters were stationed atop what is now Lincoln Hall to prevent John Dillinger’s escape from the Biograph Theatre across the street on the night he was killed. After 20 years as owner/operators of Schubas Tavern Mike and Chris Schuba opened Lincoln Hall in this historic building. “We’ve been looking three years for a building that would create a human-scale, intimate experience where we can put the music first,” said Chris Schuba in 2009 as he walked the dust-covered mezzanine while construction workers welded, sawed and hammered around him.

2009 American Idol Kris Allen will make a special guest appearance at B.B. King’s Blues Club this Wednesday backed by a full band. Guests can enjoy dinner and tunes from the B.B. King’s Las Vegas All-Stars leading up to Allen’s special appearance.

Allen’s path to the recent “American Idol” victory included memorable performances of Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine,” Michael Jackson’s “Man in the Mirror” and Kanye West’s “Heartless.” He was praised by the judges for his original arrangements of such well-known songs. Since the finale, Allen has had multiple songs appear on the Billboard charts and his finale song “No Boundaries” was No. 1 on the iTunes chart. Earlier this month, Allen released his debut album for 19 Recordings/Jive, featuring the already hit single “Live Like We’re Dying”.

Them boys are up to something again! This past month Das Racist organized the New York Times-approved MinorityFest in their hometown of Brooklyn. The night consisted of a panel discussion on race moderated by Das Racist, comedy sets from six up-and-coming comedians including Ali Wong and Kumail Nanjiani, and performances by the boys themselves amongst others. Earfarm.com called the night “a good time – and different. Think college dorm party meets intellectual salon.”

Fresh off the heels of that project Das Racist is putting the immigrant work ethic they’ve inherited to good use and pressing onward with a busy winter. This past week they premiered their video for “Rainbow in the Dark,” directed by frequent collaborator Jordan Fish (http://www.jordan-fish.com/), on Pitchfork Media. They also recently launched their website, http://www.dasracist.net, which was designed by Fish.

DROPKICK MURPHYS TO PERFORM AT 2010 BRIDGESTONE NHL WINTER CLASSIC® NEW YEAR’S DAY AT BOSTON’S FENWAY PARK
PERFORMANCE AND GAME TO BE BROADCAST LIVE ON NBC

The NHL announced today that the Dropkick Murphys will make a special appearance at the 2010 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic® at Boston’s Fenway Park on New Year’s Day. Dropkick Murphys will perform prior to the historic outdoor matchup between the Boston Bruins and the Philadelphia Flyers on Friday, January 1, 2010. NBC will provide live broadcast coverage of the game and the performance in the U.S. and CBC and RDS will televise the event live in Canada. The Murphys will open the historic outdoor game at Fenway Park with a performance of their signature song, “I’m Shipping Up To Boston.”

We want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and hope that 2010 will be a great year for all.

On that note, I sit here in my parent’s living room patiently waiting for my older brother to get here so we can tear into our presents. At this point I am sure our dog wants to tear into the gifts more than any of us do.

On the eve of Christmas Eve, someone posed a question to me that I had a really hard time answering. She asked, “What has been your greatest success in 2009?” My first thought was reflecting on just how miserable 2009 has been. I’ve seen friends lose their jobs, take pay cuts, and watched those who were able to keep their jobs now have stacks of even more work to finish. I also had immediate flashbacks of the company’s struggles and hurdles of 2009 in my head. It wasn’t until I took a couple steps back and picked up the phone to call Yvette that I realized all the great things we’ve done.

I hope everyone in the days to come can remember the successes in 2009 and celebrate them. The greatest cliché, “Great things come in small packages” is really true. So from the Dead Hub we wish you all the best in 2010 because our greatest success has been you, our readers.
