Lindstrøm & Christabelle’s debut album as a duo, Real Life Is No Cool, is out January 19th on Smalltown Supersound. The album merges Lindstrøm’s spaced-out production style and hypnotic disco beats with Christabelle’s raw, yet extremely sensual vocals to create a multi-layered pop album of structured chaos. As one of the most anticipated releases of the year, it’s quickly becoming an early contender for best of 2010 for the few who have had the pleasure of hearing it!
To gear up for this release and give others a little taste of what’s to come, the pair are giving listeners a sneak peek with a stream of two tracks off of the album — “Looking For What” and “Lovesick”. Enjoy! And feel free to embed and share it with others.

Pre-order Lindstrøm & Christabelle’s Real Life Is No Cool here:
“it’s hard to tell where Lindstrøm ends and Aeroplane begin. The pulsating Moroder synths, two- or three-note bass line, four-on-the-floor kicks, Paradise Garage handclaps, and live-sounding drum fills could easily fit either’s M.O.; so could the proggy guitar peals, classic-rock organs, or, hell, buskable acoustic strums. All that’s (almost) for sure is that the hallucinatory, stereo-reflecting diva-isms—‘What a feeling’, ‘I go crazy’, etc.– belong to Christabelle. The result: two sets of contemporary disco’s finest at the top of their respective games. And that’s just to start.” – Pitchfork
“sweetly sexy and as charming as anything else Lindstrøm’s bestowed upon us to date.” – Time Out New York
“Groove-pop duo Lindstrøm & Christabelle represent the finest disco that Oslo has to offer . . . Christabelle slathers her smooth-like-butter, sexed-up vocals over electro-pop veteran Lindstrøm’s beats—it’s what might happen if Chromeo teamed up with Cat Power and the ghost of Michael Jackson.” – Black Book
“this collaboration with chanteuse Christabelle soars into equally trippy realms. The Moroder-indebted tunes on Real Life are more pop-friendly, but the chopped-up vocal samples on opener ‘Looking for What’ are guaranteed to meld minds, while airy centerpiece ‘Keep It Up’ defies gravity via handclaps and delicately chiming bells.” — SPIN
“If you thought the original of “Baby Can’t Stop” was massive, then the Aeroplane remix will seem earth-shattering. The early-’80s disco-funk sound of Lindstrøm & Christabelle’s original is transformed into a stomping disco-house number, filled with cosmic synth flourishes, acoustic guitar strums, chunky handclaps, and high-frequency washes accompanied by some out-there arpeggiations.” – XLR8R.com
