“If Jack White opened a bar, Cobra Lounge would be it.” – Chicago Centerstage

Four years ago, Sean McKeough opened the doors to the Cobra Lounge, bringing Chicago a rock club with style. He offered a wide range of quality libations and a killer kitchen at the ready, serving the best burgers in town, exceptional salads and other snacks. Founded on the belief that rock n’ roll needn’t be uncomfortable, Cobra Lounge features bars covered in automotive paint, comfy booths, cool artwork and a killer jukebox stoked with Motorhead, John Lee Hooker, MC5, Black Angels and The Sonics among many others.

On St. Patrick’s Day, the Cobra Lounge celebrates their 4th Anniversary with a huge party. The Street Dogs, one of Boston’s best Irish Punk bands will headline – they are joined by Shot Baker and The Infected. The show is free and starts at 7pm. Cobra Lounge is located at 235 N. Ashland.

The Cobra has hosted a huge number of influential acts, highlights include Naked Raygun’s comeback show, New Bomb Turks, Riverboat Gamblers, The Duchess & the Duke, Youth Brigade and Pegboy. Cobra Lounge is home to many up and coming local and regional acts. Every show is free, there is never a cover charge for ANY show or event, therefore giving Chicago-land a great and affordable music experience. Additionally, Cobra hosts monthly residencies by some of Chicago’s great local bands & DJ’s including: every 3rd Thursday the Get Up With the Get Downs, every 3rd Saturday the Boss Sounds DJ SKA/SOUL/MOD and every Friday KDM presents: Let’s Get Weird w resident DJ’s the British Knights.

In 2002, McColgan decided he could no longer stay away from music and formed Street Dogs. After numerous staff changes and several critically acclaimed albums, in 2008 Street Dogs signed to Hellcat Records and released “State of Grace”, heading out on Warped Tour as a main stage performer for the summer. Street Dogs played Riot Fest in 2009 as well as major US road work. Street Dogs are strong supporters of Oxfam America, a humanitarian organization fighting poverty and hunger.
