Station Casinos shakes things up with its March house entertainment

LAS VEGAS – March 4, 2010 – Station Casinos continues to entertain locals with a number of new weekly acts and shows at several of its properties in addition to its trademark bands that the city has grown to love.

Beginning March 12, Rock N’ Roll 2 Soul joins the entertainment lineup at Palace Station featuring the original Cornell Gunter’s Coasters, Mary Williams of The Shirelles and Elvis tribute artist Jonathan Von Brana. With the addition of Rock N’ Roll 2 Soul, Bonkerz Comedy Club is being renamed Palace Showroom to reflect the additional entertainment offerings. Based on its popularity Bonkerz will continue to have weekly headliners, and will now expand performances from three to six nights a week. More new entertainment includes the Unsigned series every first and fourth Thursday of the month and Yellow Brick Road on Friday nights, both at Green Valley Ranch. Toto Zara has added a second night at Red Rock Resort, now performing every Friday and Saturday. Most shows are free or will be noted below if they have a minimal cover charge. Every Tuesday:

* Quinn’s Irish Pub – Trivia night from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Guests must be 21 years or older.
* Hank’s Fine Steaks & Martinis – Michael Grimm and his band perform from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. On March 9, Frankie Moreno will perform in his place.

Every Wednesday:

* Hank’s Fine Steaks & Martinis – Michael Grimm and his band from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. On March 10, Jeffery Allan and Betsy Holm will perform in his place.

Wednesday, March 17:

* Quinn’s – Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with music from the Royal Purple Rockers from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Darby O’ Gill & The Little People from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.
* Ovation – St. Patrick’s Day revelry from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. with performances by Otherwise, Picture Pilot, Black Market Music and Magni Fi. Guests must be 21 years or older.

Every Thursday:

* Hank’s Fine Steaks & Martinis – Michael Grimm and his band from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. On March 11, Shaun DeGraff will perform in his place.
* Ovation – Unsigned series on the first and fourth Thursday of the month featuring talented and popular local and regional bands that are currently unsigned. The March schedule features: Your Majesty and Imagine Dragons on March 4 and Play For Keeps and Summit Grove on March 25. Doors open at 8 p.m. Guests must be 21 years or older.

Thursday, March 18:

* Ovation – Doo wop group N Demand performs from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
* Ovation – Funky rock with The Lon Bronson All-Star Band with doors at 8 p.m. Guests must be 21 years or older.

Every Friday:

* Ovation – Yellow Brick Road (YBR) performs from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. This Las Vegas-based classic rock tribute band takes on the entire classic rock/pop spectrum with an emphasis on details and inflections. On March 19, High Wire will perform from 12:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. in YBR’s place. Guests must be 21 years or older.
* Quinn’s Irish Pub – Darby O’Gill & The Little People take the stage from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Guests must be 21 years or older.
* Hank’s Fine Steaks & Martinis – Peter Love on piano from 6:30 p.m. to midnight.

Every Saturday:

* Ovation – Sin City Sinners perform from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. This Las Vegas-based band is known for its original tracks and hard rock covers. Guests must be 21 years or older.
* Quinn’s Irish Pub – Darby O’Gill & The Little People take the stage from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Guests must be 21 years or older.

* Chrome Showroom – The Spazmatics lends its geeky charm to the ultimate ’80s experience with doors at 9 p.m. Guests must be 21 years or older.
* 4949 Lounge – Enjoy the sweet taste of hookah by Vegas Hookah from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. and a DJ spinning the night away from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. Guests must 21 years or older.

* Club Madrid – Celebrate ’80s hair metal as Metalhead takes the stage from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Guests must be 21 years or older.

Every Friday:

* A-Bar – Darrin Michaels plays jazz from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Guests must be 21 years or older.
* South Padre – Dance through the decades with Déjà Vu from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Guests must be 21 years or older.
* Bowling Bar – Karaoke from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Guests must be 21 years or older.

Every Saturday:

* A-Bar – Darrin Michaels plays jazz from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Guests must be 21 years or older.
* South Padre – Smooth Rhythm and Soul nights hosted by 105.7 The Oasis with a different band each week performing from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. The March schedule features: Block Party on March 6, Michael Speaks “Hypnotic” on March 13, Sho Tyme on March 20 and Eagle One All Stars on March 27. Boulder Station

Every Sunday:

* The Railhead – Latin Night with Noche Nortena featuring El Moreno Carrillo Y Su Banda Tierra Sagrada, delivering the best in regional Mexican music with doors at 9:30 p.m. The music flows leading up to the show and between sets with a DJ spinning the best Latin tunes until 3:30 a.m. This show has a $10 cover for men and $5 cover for women. Guests must be 21 years or older.

Every Wednesday:

* The Railhead – Noches Sabrosas featuring Volume 1 and a VJ performing a wide variety of music from cha-cha, ranchera and salsa to pop, disco and funk from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Drink specials include $3 Cazadores Tequila shots and $2 Bud and Bud Light. There is a $5 cover and guests must be 21 years or older.

Wednesday, March 17:

* Kixx Bar – DJ All Nite Mike leads the St. Patrick’s Day party from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Guests must be 21 years or older.

Every Thursday:

* The Railhead – Jerry Tiffe brings back the days of swing from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., getting folks out of their seats and onto the dance floor. On March 4, the show will be dark.
* The Railhead – Boulder Blues from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. featuring some of the country’s best blues musicians on a rotating schedule. The March schedule features: Scott Holt on March 11, Jason Ricci & New Blood on March 18 and Chris Duarte on March 25. On March 4, Boulder Blues will be held at Sunset Station due to a private event. Guests must be 21 years or older.
* Kixx Bar – Van De Guzman plays the best hits of yesterday and today from 7 p.m. to midnight. Guests must be 21 years or older.

Every Friday:

* The Railhead – High Wire performs classic rock from 11 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. On March 19, Playground will perform in their place. Guests must be 21 years or older.
* Kixx Bar – Cocktails and karaoke with DJ Tiny from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Guests must be 21 years or older.

* Access Showroom – Rat Pack Thursdays takes over the first and third Thursday of the month from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The March schedule features: David De Costa, Doug Starks and Mark Verabian on March 4 and Scotty Hartshorne on March 18. There is a $5 cover.

Every Friday:

* Access Showroom – Third Town, 2008 “Nashville Star” finalists, performs southern rock and country classics as well as original songs, complete with line dancing with Emerald Yancey. Doors at 7 p.m. The band is followed by live band karaoke. On March 19, doors open at 10:30 p.m. and there will be no line dancing. Guests must be 21 years or older.

* ETA Lounge – DJ Re: Turn spins music from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. Guests must be 21 years or older.
* MRKT Sea & Land – Live piano from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. with Shaun DeGraff. On March 5, Michael Grimm will perform in his place.

* Palace Showroom – Celebrated hilarity fills the room at 8:30 p.m. with artists on a rotating schedule. The March schedule features: Matt Kazam on March 8-13, Rob Jenkins on March 15-22, Kathleen Dunbar on March 22-27 and Pam Matteson on March 29-31. Tickets are $29.95 plus tax and applicable fees.
