Pitchfork Music Festival Talks Webcast, Food Vendors & Recycling Store! Limited Sat. & Sun. Tickets Available Next Week!

The 2010 Pitchfork Music Festival (July 16-18 at Chicago’s Union Park) is one week away!  With the excitement reaching a fever pitch, PMF would like to take this opportunity to inform everyone of a few wonderful staples that help make the festival a truly special event. Returning this year is the live festival webcast, a slew of Chicago’s favorite eateries providing festival-goers a wide assortment of foodstuffs, and the PMF recycling store. Also, don’t forget that Friday is on the verge of selling out, so be sure to purchase tickets as soon as humanly possible here:

For those who slept on purchasing passes early, PMF is happy to announce that they’ve made a limited number of tickets available for Saturday and Sunday, but will only be procurable on-site on Thursday, July 15th. The box office will open at 11 AM. We suggest arriving early as these are sure to go quickly!

Pitchfork Music Festival Webcast

With only a few Friday tickets remaining, not everyone who wants to will be able to attend the festival, but fear not! Those who can’t attend in person can watch the event as it happens via webcast, which will be available on the media page of the festival website:

Optimus, via its production arm ONE at Optimus, is the official webcast production partner of the Pitchfork Music Festival for the fourth year running.  Optimus is a creative collaborator and partner with a passion for the festival and the independent music community, consistently capturing the essence of both in its work for The Pitchfork Festival.  As a valued partner in aspects of coordinating, shooting and producing live video feeds of the performances, Optimus works with the festival to enable people around the world to watch the independent music event in real time.  The production and post-production house also creates original video content to promote the festival and the brand, and will run two such pieces on the screens between bands during the festival.

PMF 2010 Food Vendors

Several varied Chicago vendors will provide grandiose gustation ranging from vegan to meat, southwest BBQ to Eastern Asian cuisine, and everything in between making this year’s festival food fare the best yet. This years vendors are: Robinson’s Ribs, Star of Siam, Bite Cafe, The Rice Table, Wishbone, Abbey Pub, Cevapcici, Bombay Station, Urb Garden, La Luce, Berghoff, Connie’s Pizza, Heineken, Chicago Diner, Whole Foods, and Temptation Ice Cream.

Pitchfork Music Festival – Environment/Sustainability

The Pitchfork Music Festival takes our responsibility to the environment seriously, and encourages our audience, performing artists, and PMF vendors to do the same. That’s why, to ensure the greenest festival possible, we’ve brought back the PMF Recycling store, where festival-goers can bring their plastic cups and bottles and exchange them for great festival swag. The Festival has also taken steps to use hybrid vehicles, provided by ZipCar, for PMF operations, and are generating all power for the event from Biodiesel fuel.  A brief summary of some steps we’re taking to ensure that our environmental “footprint” is as small as possible can be seen here:
