San Diego, CA quintet AS I LAY DYING released their new full-length album, The Powerless Rise May 11 (via Metal Blade Records), which entered the Billboard Top 200 chart at #10, marking the band’s second Top Ten debut, and reached #2 on the Billboard Independent Albums Chart and #3 on the Hard Music Albums Chart. Produced by Adam Dutkiewicz of Killswitch Engage, the album features the new single “Parallels” and marks the follow-up to their critically acclaimed fourth album An Ocean Between Us which earned the group a Grammy nomination for “Best Metal Performance” alongside metal heavyweights Slayer and King Diamond.

Tampa, FL’s UNDEROATH—whose last four albums have combined sales well in excess of one millions copies–have recently begun recording their new as-yet-untitled album, the follow-up to their 2008 acclaimed disc Lost In the Sound of Separation (Tooth & Nail/Solid State), which is set for release in the late fall 2010. The last disc marked the top rock debut for the week and entered the Billboard Top 200 Album chart at #8, #1 on the Top Christian albums chart and #5 on the Top Digital Albums chart.
