Fourth studio album from celebrated country group garners critical acclaim
Nashville, Tenn. — (August 24, 2010) — Platinum-selling country group Little Big Town is celebrating the release of their new album, The Reason Why (Capitol Records Nashville), which has been met with immediate praise from critics and fans alike. Marking the group’s fourth studio album, The Miami Herald’s Howard Cohen calls the new project “country’s album of the year for 2010,” and Michael McCall of the Associated Press says the project warrants the group to “regain their swagger as one of country’s most distinctive acts.” Brian Mansfield of USA Today calls them “a combination that’s impossible to resist,” noting their rustic groove and ‘70s pop-rock harmonies as stand-out attributes. Moreover, the Boston Globe’s Sarah Rodman says, “The Reason Why does what all good records should do: It makes you laugh, cry, hoot, holler, and breaks your heart.”
In celebration of the salient debut, Little Big Town will perform on ABC’s Good Morning America tomorrow, Wednesday, August 25 and on FOX News Channel’s Fox & Friends “All American Concert Series” on Friday, August 27. Both performances will air during the 8 a.m. EDT hour.
In addition to the nationally televised performances, the group will appear on nationally syndicated Better TV, AP-TV, and will be the featured guest on Sirius/XM’s Highway 16 during their “Hang Time” special.
The group, which consists of Karen Fairchild, Phillip Sweet, Kimberly Schlapman and Jimi Westbrook, co-produced the project alongside Wayne Kirkpatrick and co-wrote eight of the 12 tracks. With no intention to slow down, the band will continue to make appearances in support of the new album with a performance at the New York State Fair on Sept. 2 before rejoining Sugarland on The Incredible Machine Tour on Sept. 3 at State College, PA’s Bryce Jordan Center.
