MGMT PREMIERE NEW VIDEO FOR “CONGRATULATIONS”

“Congratulations,” the latest video from MGMT’s acclaimed sophomore album of the same name debuts today at www.whoismgmt.com.  Directed by Tom Kuntz (LCD Soundsystem, Electric Six), “Congratulations” was shot in early April in the Mojave Desert.  Kuntz, a recent Directors Guild of America award winner, guides our protagonists through an extensive and expansive journey across the never-ending sands with unexpected “breakdowns” along the way.

MGMT recently finished up an extensive sold out summer tour of the U.S., which included multiple nights at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.  Strong ticket sales precede the band’s return to the U.S. for fall tour dates beginning at Cypress Hill Smoke Out Festival on October 16 in San Bernardino, CA. and running through November 6 in Austin, TX at Fun Fun Fest (see full itinerary below).

MGMT’s video for “Flash Delirium” was recently nominated in the Best Rock Video category at this year’s MTV Video Music Award.  Their hit song “Kids,” from their debut album Oracular Spectacular, has just been certified platinum for single sales in excess of one million units.  MGMT can be seen performing “Congratulations” on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Monday October 18, 2010 at 12:05 am ET/PT. MGMT will return to influential LA-based public radio station KCRW on October 18 to play a live set for their signature music show Morning Becomes Eclectic. The performance will be live on 89.9FM and KCRW.com at 11:15am and then will be made available on demand.
