Burbank, CA – Disturbed have proven once again they are one of the country’s biggest hard rock bands with their new Reprise Records release Asylum, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard album chart. Asylum is the band’s fourth consecutive studio album to debut at No. 1, a feat achieved by only two other rock  groups in history: Metallica and the Dave Matthews Band.

Asylum is shaping up to be another global success for the band.  The album debuted at #1 in New Zealand, #2 in Australia, #4 in Germany, #3 in Austria and #7 in the UK.

Early critical praise for Asylum has been effusive.  USA Today called it “a tight, sharp-riffed ride…the combo of aggressive roar and guitar grace recalls Metallica’s finest moments” and the New York Daily News declared “On Asylum, Disturbed finely weigh power and delicacy, catchiness and punch…the subtle variety of the band’s tunesmanship, and the buoyancy of their rhythms, that makes this hard group so easy to love.”

Disturbed’s current single “Another Way to Die” is a #1 hit at Active Rock Radio.  It is the fastest #1 on Billboard’s Active Rock chart in over 3 years and is the band’s 7th # 1 single on Billboard’s Active Rock chart: they are tied with Metallica for the 3rd most #1’s on the Active Rock chart.

The Chicago foursome is currently headlining the first annual Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival, which runs through October 4th. Also on the bill are Avenged Sevenfold, Stone Sour, Hell Yeah and Halestorm.  Visit www.rockstaruproar.com for tour dates.  Disturbed will continue to tour through the end of the year, with a European run from mid-November through mid-December. Plans are also in the works for their 4th annual Music As A Weapon Tour, tentatively slated to run from January-March 2011.

Disturbed is vocalist David Draiman, guitarist Dan Donegan, drummer Mike Wengren, and bassist John Moyer. For more on the band please visit www.disturbed1.com.
