Walking up to the Rave was an interesting journey. The AP Tour was playing downstairs as some of the biggest legends in metal ripped the stage apart upstairs in the Eagle’s Ballroom. There were many Slayer fans out in full force and many chugged their beer before entering the Rave. They were definitely ready for some Slayer. I actually questioned why Megadeth wasn’t the headliner, but the Slayer fans made it clear that Slayer was the best band on the bill. That would be the last time I question Slayer fans. Outside and in the halls people, mostly men, would randomly burst out yelling “Slayer!”
When it was time to hit the stage the ballroom was saturated with Slayer t-shirts in the crowd and smoke machines were pumping more smoke than a chimney. The intense smoke and low lighting continued throughout Slayer’s entire set.
Slayer is out promoting their epic box set, The Vinyl Conflict. This is the first time the band released a box set like this that collects all 10 original Slayer albums from American Recordings, and of course, it’s a limited edition box set. All the albums have been remastered for your listening pleasure! They are pressed on 180-gram audiophile vinyl and include reproductions of the original artwork. If you are so inclined you can pick up the box set for yourself here. Remember the Holidays are coming!
Slayer is still out on tour, but catch them while you can!
