Young The Giant Announce November California Headlining Shows and Midwest Support Dates with Neon Trees
SoCal rock outfit Young The Giant have announced a run of November tour dates that begin with three headlining shows in San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego before they go on to play dates throughout the Midwest supporting Neon Trees, including stops in Detroit, Oklahoma City, Little Rock, Grand Rapids, Columbus and Cleveland.
These new live dates come just a week after Young the Giant took NYC by storm during the CMJ Fest. One of the most talked-about bands to make their CMJ debut this year, the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal both named Young The Giant a top pick, with Billboard calling the band “rising stars” and the Wall Street Journal praising the band’s “vivid, vibrant rock…unexpected arrangements and tasty vocal harmonies.” Young The Giant digitally released their self-titled debut album on October 25 and a physical release is set for January 2011 via Roadrunner Records.
Helmed by producer Joe Chiccarelli (White Stripes, My Morning Jacket) and live tracked at Sunset Sound Studios in LA, Newport Beach, CA’s Young The Giant’s unique brand of sun-soaked rock is quickly capturing the attention of music critics and fans alike. Exhibited by rousing lead single “My Body,” Young The Giant’s music offers both a vibrant youthfulness and a sophisticated songcraft with no shortage of infectious hooks, sweet melodies and intelligent lyrics. The band’s diverse ethnic backgrounds – Indian, Persian, British, and French- Canadian among them – translate into an incredibly dynamic album that offers jazz rhythms, surf pop harmonies, Mediterranean and Caribbean influences, flashes of jolting alt rock and so much more – topped off with frontman Sameer Gadhia’s rich, honeyed vocals.
Praise for Young The Giant:
“Young the Giant draws on its European and Middle Eastern ethnic roots to enrich its vivid, vibrant rock…their superb self-titled debut album that rings with unexpected arrangements and tasty vocal harmonies. It’s a pop masterpiece…” –Wall Street Journal
“Catchy and epic.” – KCRW
“Had The Strokes come of age in the era of The OC and The Hills they might’ve sounded like this…you won’t find a note out of place.” – NME
