Austin’s Saloon/Fuel Room – Libertyville, IL
He is the original Doctor Feel Good and he prescribed several doses of tequila to the crowd. Vince Neil is out promoting several things. Of course, there is his tequila, then his new book, and then there is his new album, Tattoos & Tequila. He’s quite the entrepreneur these days. Vince also mentioned to the crowd about a little festival called Crue Fest that will be back for its third installment this summer! The crowd was excited to hear that piece of news.
I must say it took Vince and the guys some time to hit the stage after the openers, Kashmir, ended their set. It was about an hour later when Vince hit the stage. Most didn’t even notice because they were busy drinking, but for those of us who weren’t so fortunate to have liquor in hand, we noticed.
The set actually went by pretty fast. He tore through some oldie but goodies such as “Dr. Feel Good” and “Girls Girls Girls.” When he ended, he really ended. We were all waiting for Vince to give us some more lovin’ but the house lights came on and we knew there was no more coming. I could hear the same statement being uttered over and over again by the fans as I was walking out, “It was only an hour!” Yes it was only an hour. Was the crowd a tad disappointed? I would have to say so. Yet Vince did leave the crowd wanting more. The crowd could have said, “Thank God that was only an hour!”
I wish Vince would have played more songs off Tattoos & Tequila especially the CCR cover “Who’ll Stop the Rain” or even Elton John’s “The Bitch is Back.”
