Little Big Town released their newest album, The Reason Why, last August. It was received with glowing reviews by critics, including this one. On the heels of the success of The Reason Why, the group is following up with a series of webisodes called Scattered, Smothered, & Covered. In the series they take on today’s pop hits and make them country. They also have been on the road with Sugarland on the Incredible Machine Tour.
Little Big Town hit the stage around 8pm to a full house at the Allstate Arena. The set started with a bang as the band played their hit “Little White Church.” Karen, Kimberly, Phillip, and Jimi, followed the crowd pleaser with “Bring it on Home” and “Bones” from The Road to Here. The southern quartet played their up-tempo tracks from the new album. It was about halfway through the set when they played their rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.” Their country cover is part of their Scattered, Smothered, & Covered series that is made possible by fan requests. It was received with the crowd singing along to every word. Yet fans seemed to be the most pleased when they ended their set with their biggest radio hit, “Boondocks.”
