Eagle’s Ballroom – Milwaukee, WI
All Photos by Chris Weber
Chuck Ragan opened for Social Distortion in Milwaukee last night. He won over the crowd with his raw, grumbling voice. Chuck is also the frontman for Hot Water Music and back in 2006 he started his solo project, while the rest of the band went on to form The Draft.
Last night The Sharks kicked off the night to a minimal response from the packed crowd in the Eagle’s Ballroom. It wasn’t until Chuck Ragan and his fellow band mates hit the stage that the crowd was really warmed up and ready to go. There was a fiddle and bass player that joined Chuck onstage. I was thinking that these guys would be giving us few dance numbers, but Chuck is all folk rock. For those of us who had never heard of Chuck Ragan before, and are fans of Social Distortion, were quite impressed. You can check his music out at: http://www.myspace.com/chuckragan.
You can also check Chuck out with Hot Water Music at Turner Hall in Milwaukee on the 22nd of this month.
