Fans had been talking about it for weeks and the Radio station, 103.5 Kiss Fm, who hosted their Fantabuloso Dos had been heavily promoting it. With their first success with Fantabulso in 2010, they came back with an even more promising line-up consisting of Jessie j, Taio Cruz, Lupe Fiasco, T. Pain, Pitbull and many more!
We were promised 9 artists within 5 hours and they definitely delivered; most sets were short and pumped on steroids, even merging 3 songs into one! Not to complain, it was definitely a house full of talent.
Artist: Jessie J (click here for more photos)
The first to kick of the performance was London Born Jessie J. With her sleek long black bob, leopard print bodysuit, and tall black stilettos; Jessie was pure sex onstage. Not only did she look great onstage, but she has a voice that can rival any pop diva these days. She makes going up and down octaves seem easy. With an effortlessly cool performance that showcased her voice; Jessie J. was a great indication of the night to come.
Artist: Tinie Tempah
More talent from London was showcased as the South London raised rapper Tinie Tempah joined the stage. He has had a successful start in the UK winning many British awards for his music. His performance was short but energetic. He was basically in and off the stage before we could even understand what he had said.
Artist: Far East Movement (Click for more photos)
After hearing their massive hit “Like a G6″, which was performed that night, I was definitely excited to see Far East Movement live. The Asian- American electro hop quartet provide dance music for this generation’s teens who are symbolized by their fresh kicks, jeans and hoodies. Their performance was as dynamic as their music and videos.
Artist: Taio Cruz (Click here for more photos)
More British talent on the stage; Taio Cruz has definitely made a name for himself in the U.S. All with 2 albums, and his forthcoming album Black and Leather on it’s way. He was very well received as he performed his top hits “Break Your Heart”, “Higher”, “Dirty Picture”, and “Dynamite.” Taio has a coolness to him that drove all the ladies crazy.
Artist: Lupe Fiasco (Click here for more photos)
Again, another too short performance from fellow Chicagoan Lupe Fiasco. His newly released album Lasers debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200. His performance was brief starting off with a short version of “Words I never Said”. It transitioned into ” I don’t wanna care right now” during which he splashed a full water bottle onto his fans. He also played a short version of “Out of my Head” which merged into “Kick Push” his first single from his debut album. His fun performance was closed by another hit, “Superstar.”
Artist: David Guetta (Click here for more photos)
The French producer/ DJ, who got his start playing in clubs in the 80′s and 90′s, claimed to have come straight from the airport and onto the stage. As a very sought after producer, he has worked with many of today’s hottest acts from The Black Eyed Peas to Madonna. He performed his electro hits “Club Can’t Handle Me”, “When Love Takes Over”, and “Sexy Bitch.”
Artist: Mike Posner (Click here for more photos)
One of the more anticipated acts was Mike. He has gained a fast following, with his good looks and smooth lyrics. He had all the girls’ attention. His hit “Please Don’t Go” was his opener. He stopped at one point during the song creating suspense before breaking back into the chorus. “Bow Chicka Wow Wow” also had everyone smoothly dancing along. He performed his own rendition of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep”; nothing compared to the original. His true shining moment came when he came out wearing a bulls Jersey while singing “Cooler Than Me”. He jumped off stage into the audience , which drove fans crazy. He lost his jersey, revealing some skin, on the way back on stage. He definitely gave us a show.
Artist: T. Pain (Click here for more photos)
Even after 4 hours of back to back excitement the crowd was not fatigued when T. Pain arrived. As soon as the lights went on, he broke into his intro which led straight into “Buy U a Drank”. A seasoned professional; T. Pain definitely knows how to perform on stage. He performed an array of songs from “Drop It Down Low”, to his popular ” Apple Bottom Jeans”, “Make it Rain.” Accompanied by a couple of dancers, T. Pain was all over the stage. He was on one side of the stage and onto the other within seconds. His performances are fun and comical. He knows that when he’s having a good time so are we.
Artist: Pitbull (Click here for more photos)
After much hype being built up all night for his performance; Pitbull was finally on stage. He was donning his signature business look. He made dancing in a suit look damn easy. He meant business, he covered many hits from his career although only playing a 30 minute set. Some of his songs included ” Shut It Down”, “Move Shake Drop”, “On the Floor”, and “I Like it”. Although the latter are duets, his seamless performance left nothing to miss. Pitbull is one of those performers that are worth the wait. Although his performance only being 30 minutes left us wanting more.
With a successful lineup this year and an obvious success the last, 103.5 Kiss Fm’s Fantabuloso must come back next year. It’s definitely and event that is sure to keep on growing.
