Farbrew’s Beer Review: Alaskan White Ale

Alaskan White Ale
Alaskan Brewing Co.

Alaskan White Ale is a delicious wheat beer that has a cloudy light golden color. It is based on a Belgian-style “witbier,” which is literally translated to “White Beer.” White refers to beers that are made with wheat ingredients which gives the beer that cloudy-type look. The beer has a really nice flavor of spice and citrus with a finish of an orange peel flavoring. It is made with hops from the Pacific Northwest as well as from Europe, along with water from an ice field which collects rain in Juneau, AK, which I’m would assume is probably some of the purest water in the world. It is a very smooth and easy beer to drink. Would probably go well with spicy foods, or light foods, such as salads, or fish dishes.

Alaskan Brewing Co. is located in Juneau, AK, and has a mascot of a Polar Bear which are native to the Arctic Ocean and are often found in the snow, water, and ice in Northern Alaska. Although, the Polar Bear is related closely to brown bears, it is classified as a marine mammal adapted to the ice and snowy climates of Alaska. Thus, the Polar Bear represents the Alaskan Brewery best!
