New Single, “Gonna Get Over You,” to feature Ryan Tedder

Los Angeles, CA (July 18, 2011) – NBC has announced that platinum selling singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles will join the upcoming season of their hit television singing competition series “The Sing-Off” as a judge.  The show, which features fellow judges Ben Folds (Ben Folds Five) and Shawn Stockman (Boyz II Men) and host Nick Lachey, will premiere its third season on Monday, September 19 from 8-9 p.m. ET on NBC (check local listing for show times).

Sara is preparing to release her new single, “Gonna Get Over You,” which features hitmaker Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic.  She will shoot the accompanying video this month in Los Angeles, which will be directed by actor/writer/producer/director Jonah Hill, marking his directorial video debut. “Gonna Get Over You” appears on Bareilles’ critically acclaimed Epic Records studio release Kaleidoscope Heart, which was released in September of 2010.  The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard top 200 chart and has gained critical praise everywhere including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, People and Los Angeles Times.  “Gonna Get Over You” is the follow up to Kaleidoscope Heart‘s second hit single “Uncharted,” which hit #2 on the VH1 Countdown.  The album also yielded the hit single “King of Anything,” which earned a Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and was certified platinum by the RIAA.

Sara will also head back into the studio later this fall to record brand new tracks for an upcoming EP that is yet to be titled.   The EP, produced by acclaimed singer/songwriter and fellow “Sing-Off” judge Ben Folds, will be recorded in Nashville.    This Sunday, Sara will make her acting debut on Nickelodeon’s newest comedy series, “Bucket & Skinner’s Epic Adventures,” where she will play herself.

Sara will continue to tour this summer with some exclusive headlining shows around the country including newly announced Chicago & Philadelphia shows and select dates with Joshua Radin, Ben Lee & Elizabeth and the Catapult and will play a string of opening dates with Grammy winning country duo Sugarland for their Incredible Machine Tour for the remainder of the summer through October (full routing below).
