Wilco has just announced a fourth Chicago concert. With a recent string of immediate sellouts, scheduled for this December at the Civic Opera House, the Riviera Theatre and the Vic Theatre, Wilco has now added a fourth Chicago concert, this time at Metro on Friday, December 16. Metro is located at 3730 North Clark Street on Chicago’s north side. Showtime is 8:00pm. 18 and over.
Tickets for the Metro show are on sale now. Tickets are priced at $44.00 and will only be available for purchase online at www.eTix.com. As part of Wilco’s ongoing efforts to discourage scalping and keep tickets affordable, there is a strict 2-ticket limit per person.
Multiple purchases are forbidden and violation of this policy will result in the buyer forfeiting ALL purchased tickets. This show will employ a paperless ticketing system. No hard tickets will be mailed out and the “print at home” option will not be available. All tickets purchased must be used only by the original purchaser, who will be required to present a photo ID and the credit card used for the purchase in order to gain entry to the venue. The purchaser of the tickets and their guest will need to enter the venue together. There will be no name changes allowed on this event and no exchanges on the night of the show.
In other Wilco news, the band has just released their brand new album, “The Whole Love.” The record is Wilco’s eighth studio album and the first for the band’s newly-formed dBpm Records. It follows the band’s 2009 Grammy-nominated “Wilco (The Album)” and was recorded at the band’s Chicago recording studio The Loft. “The Whole Love” features 12 new original tunes and is produced by Jeff Tweedy with Patrick Sansone and Tom Schick.
You can pickup The Whole Love at select Garrett’s popcorn stores and part of the purchase is going to Jane Adams Hull House Association. http://www.hullhouse.org/ The album will also be available at all local record and CD stores.
Also, for Wilco’s upcoming North American tour dates, they have launched the Wilco Fan Video Project, which presents fans with a new way to interact with the concert experience. Using Vimeo, fans film and submit footage of their cities — footage which may then be projected behind the band on stage. In addition, fans can take advantage of the popular song request (and dedication) function hosted on the band’s website, wilcoworld.net.
