Kid Rock is joining forces with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra to keep the DSO in Detroit.  It’s all set to take place on May 12, 2012 at 8 p.m. at the legendary Fox Theatre.  The one-night only show is set to raise a cool $1 million to help save the DSO.

Tickets start at $100, $150, $250, $250 and a limited number of “Rock the Symhony” VIP packages. The VIP package includes premium seating and access to the exclusive after party.

“As a musician, and of course a Detroiter, I am proud to be supporting this longstanding cultural institution,” said Kid Rock.  “And while I know these ticket prices are more than what my fans are used to paying, I am confident that whatever happens when we put the Twisted Brown Trucker Band, a 80 piece orchestra, and ‘Bawitdaba’ together will be well worth the price of admission.”

Kid Rock, The Fox Theatre, and Leonard Slatkin “America’s Music Director” are all all volunteering their services for the night.  This means everything made from the show is going directly to the Detroit Symphony, which also funds outreach, engagment, and community service work in schools, hospitals, retirement centers, places of worshiop, and community centers across Southeastern Michigan.

The sponors for the night include Made in Detroit, The Kid ROck Foundation, Tock Venutres/Quicken Loans, Ilitch Holdings, Inc., The Fox Theatre, and Olympia Entertainment and the DSO.
