Pretty Much Amazing has a Lollapalooza memo for the 2012 line-up, but could it be true?! This isn’t the first leak of the supposed Lollapalooza 2012 line-up. PMA has a photo of the memo (below). The headliners include Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Keys, Black Sabbath, Jack White, Florence and the Machine, and At the Drive-In to name a few. Other musicians that are supposedly set to take the stage include: The Shins, Passion Pit, The Weekend, Miike Snow, J.Cole, Delta Spirit, Dir Antwoord, Dawes, Band of Skulls, Polica, Sharon Van Etten, White Rabbits, and much more.
Do you believe?! The official announcement of the Lolla Line-up comes at 12 midnight tomorrow night, so we shall see if this is the real deal!
I don’t believe Sabbath will be there given Iommi’s current state. They canceled their Euro dates, save for the single show. Also, as logical as it is for RHCP, they’re playing shows in CHI and MKE this year already…it makes having them at Lolla not very exciting.
I can see Black Sabbath having a stand in for Iommi. If this was offered to them I can’t see their management turning it down.
Sabbath were also rumored to be on the Coachella lineup until Iommi announced his sickness. Ozzy and Friends are touring all over Europe (Slash / Zakk) as replacements. It does end in July so it’s feasible. It just isn’t the same as Black Sabbath.
I’d do backflips to cover a Sabbath reunion (even w/o Tony, sniffle), I would love this to be true either way.
I’m buying Jack White. I still think Metallica or System fit the RHCP spot better. There also seems to be a major headliner void in that list. The top 3 fit the bill, the others (Florence, Jack White) seem a little light for headliner status.
