Brendan James hails from New Hampshire and worked at Urban Outfitters by day and hitting up the open mics and grand pianos by night. He would often sneak into hotel ballrooms to get some practice time in on grand pianos. Disguised as a hotel patron no one thought twice about asking him to leave. He even recorded a 4 song EP called “The Ballroom Break-In” from his adventures in the ballroom.

His new album The Day Is Brave is an intimate look into Brendan’s life. He sings of his former girlfriend at Urban Outfitters, to places he spent time at during his parent’s divorce, and songs about his youth. You may have heard one of Brendan’s songs if you watched Private Practice’s final episode on NBC in 2007 where the song “The Sun Will Rise” was featured.
