MULTI-INSTRUMENTALIST, VOCALIST AND SONGWRITER
DEBI NOVA ARRIVES WITH HYBRID DEBUT, LUNA NUEVA
DISC TO BE RELEASED SPRING 2010 ON SURCO/DECCA

debi nova

Los Angeles, CA – Costa Rican sensation Debi Nova is set to release her North American debut, Luna Nueva (Surco/Decca) this spring. The multi-instrumental singer-songwriter has been readying her first full-length album for over a decade, while amassing an impressive body of work including six Grammy-nominated projects, a #1 single, collaborations with the likes of Black Eyed Peas and Ricky Martin, and touring the world.

Nova is now poised to conquer the U.S. with her hybrid debut, incorporating both English and Spanish and her love of both cultures. “As I was writing the songs, I found myself naturally blending both languages because it’s something I do every day,” says Nova. “My music reflects being part of a generation of young Latinos who use both naturally. The world is becoming smaller and I’m proud to represent that.”

Shakira is back….kind of..

Posted by Jessica Emmerich On September - 3 - 2009

she wolf

I was soooo happy to hear Shakira was releasing a new album, and then I heard the new song, “She Wolf.”   I really don’t know what “she” was thinking.  I clicked on the article I was reading to check out the video. The video is scary to say the least, and I mean scary bad, not Rob Zombie scary.  She jolts her body around like there is something wrong with her. I want to check her into a hospital for that song and video.  I miss the “Eyes Like Yours” Shakira. I wonder if we’ll get her back?

If you haven’t checked out the video you can see it here, but just a warning it could very well be a waste of your time.

One of Mexico’s greatest musical ensembles was at the All-State Arena on May 2 to promote their awaited album Si Tu Te Vaz.

Los Temerarios returned to center stage after being away for three years. The legendary duo, made up of brothers Adolfo Angel and Gustago Angel, were given a warm Chicago welcome as they made their dramatic entrance when a set of stairs on stage were raised.

The concert was kicked off with “Loco Por Ti” from their new album titled “Si Tu Te Vaz” followed by two and a half hours of Los Temerarios’ greatest hits. The crowd cheared and screamed at the beginning of every song to let the duo know the song was well known. Some of the ballads the audience sang along to, were “A Quien Quieres Enganar” and “Si Quiero Volver” and “Te Quiero.” Cumbias such as Una Miradita took everyone back in time to the 90s where they had a chart topping song after another. And their heart wrenching rancheras like “La Botella Envenenada” had the crowd with their glasses raised in a toast.

Enrique Iglesias Chicago

Enrique Iglesias opened his show last night with his 2004 hit “Not In Love” and followed it with two Spanish ballads. Switching up his English and Spanish hits, Enrique kept the audience on their feet waiting to hear what the next song would be. Having been performing and writing music for the past 20 years, he did not have nearly enough time to fit in all of the songs that have garnered him millions of fans from around the world. “Bailamos” was the 4th song of the night and brought back the memories of the moment years ago when he officially crossed over into mainstream pop in America.

Keep reading after the jump to see more photos from last night’s nearly sold out concert…
