FYI: I took many pictures last night. Instead of just picking a few out for the blog I am covering each band because each band deserves their due. Plus, they all had some awesome shots.
Job For a Cowboy
The Gigantour is the yearly metal tour put on by Dave Mustaine of Megadeth. This year’s line up included High on Fire, Jobs for a Cowboy, Children of Bodom, In Flames, and of course Megadeth. San Diego was lucky this year to be selected for the dvd recording. This is awesome to fans that were there last night but a bit of a pain for the photographers who stood in the barricades with the video crew. I believe we collided a few times. My head also was hit by people’s flying feet but that’s just part of the job.
High on Fire kicked off the long evening. They played to just a few hundred people that arrived early. High on Fire has 3 guys in the band and for just having 3 members these guys were heavy.

Next up was Job for a Cowboy. These guys are from Arizona, as the name might imply with the whole cowboy thing. These guys are definitely categorized underneath “cookie monster metal.” Cookie Monster Metal is the deep screaming that is sometimes difficult to make out. There were times when I felt like I was watching a musical with these guys because all 5 guys had a stage presence. There was no shortage of metal here and these guys were great to photograph.
