If you’ve never heard of Laura Warshauer before, it’s ok because I hadn’t either until this morning. Laura was recently signed to Island Records. She was signed on the spot by L.A. Reid after one of her shows.
She is a singer/songwriter from New Jersey that mixes pop and a bit of folk into her music. Laura is being compared to the likes of Joni Mitchell and Fiona Apple. Her self-titled release will drop September 23 by Island/Pink Chariot/Fontana.
Laura is also involved in a charity called “Musicians On Call.” Musicians On Call began in the Pediatric Cancer ward at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital and musicians would be given permission to sit bedside to patients and play for them.
