Lily Allen Chicago 6

The last time I saw Lily Allen live in concert was way back in February of 2007 at the Metro. That was her first U.S. tour in support of her debut album Alright, Still. More than two years later, I saw her again at The Riv touring the U.S. in support of her sophomore album It’s Not Me, It’s You. Both of those shows sold out in hours, proving that this feisty and rebellious Brit has not lost any of her fans. If anything, she has gained thousands more. Wearing only a thin line of liquid black eyeliner paired with mascara, Lily bounced around the stage dancing and singing for the roughly 1,800 fans filling the venue. Allen looked like she was having an absolute blast and didn’t want to be anywhere else on that Easter Sunday. Even though I didn’t get a chance to snatch a set list, I did my best to remember the songs Lily Allen performed recently in Chicago. Here we go (songs are in no particular order):

Womanizer (Britney Spears cover)

Lily Allen Chicago

Yes indeed, folks. Lily Allen chose to end her set with a rousing cover of “Womanizer” by Britney Spears. Nothing against the song itself – I am a huge fan of the tune. I mean, who isn’t? Honestly, that song is catchy as hell! I just found it slightly odd that out of all people, it would be Lily Allen who chose to cover a Britney song. Does anybody else feel the same way? Lily is the anti-Britney in my eyes. I was shocked, that’s all. Another surprise was when Lily whipped out a long cigarette and had one of the guys from her stage crew run out and light it for her. Allen then proceeded to smoke her cigarette for two of the more slower songs of the night. “I had to tell the promoter that the cigarette was a prop,” she admitted to her audience. This girl has not lost her spunk or attitude at all! Our Lily is still breaking the law and disregarding the rules. And we love her for that.

i can honestly say i am not truly a fan of lily allen. She just looks washed up like amy winehouse. But i will not lie i do like Some of her music.

Great pics. I really liked the show, she’s very entertaining. I kinda see your point of the Womanizer cover thing but I think she picked it as a parody like her Nan You’re a Window Shopper thing. Can’t lie though, her English accent makes the song 1000 times better lol.

Totally mist ya that night, but I never got to see your face!

Does this girl know what makeup is??? The pics are great–but she looks like a singer in the subway tunnel!! Her skin is broken out, there are bags under her eyes…blegh!!

I do really like her music. I’m disappointed by her appearance. Not that everyone needs to have on layers of makeup, but an effort would be nice.

    Geeeez.
