I knew she could do it! Mariah Carey’s new single Touch My Body remains #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the second week in a row. Touch My Body is Mariah’s 18th #1 Single. She has officially beat The King – Elvis Presley – for the record of most #1 singles. She was previosly tied with Elvis and now has surpassed him for good to make music history. She is the only female artist in the history of music to have so many top hits. Now all she has to do is break the record currently held by The Beatles for #1 songs on Billboard – no pressure Ms. Carey!
Madonna’s new single, 4 Minutes from her upcoming album Hard Candy, is at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. This woman even had production and writing help from the dynamic duo of Timbaland and Timberlake for her new song and still can’t reach #1 like Mariah.
For those of you who religiously watch American Idol, you might have caught Mariah’s performance on last night’s episode. She closed the show like a true diva singing Fly Like A Bird from her last album, The Emancipation of Mimi. Idol judge Randy Jackson even joined in and played bass while Mariah showed off her vocal chops. Old school style all the way!
