MTV Censors Weird Al Yankovic

I was catching up on some techdirt and found out that MTV’s new music video site that launched October 28th has bleeped out names of filing sharing sites in Weird Al Yankovic’s “Don’t Download This Song”.

The following verse:

Once in a while maybe you will feel the urge
To break international copyright law
By downloading MP3s from file-sharing sites
Like Morpheus or Grokster or Limewire or KaZaA

The last line now sounds like ”Like *BLEEP* or *BLEEP* or *BLEEP* or *BLEEP*” WTH? Is this MTV trying to be funny or just sucking up to the record companies? Oh Viacom, you already took our videos away on the telly; leave our interweb alone!
