Chicago Music Guide
Chicago Music Guide is a music resource webzine, whose desire is to assist all musicians with every aspect of their career.
The mission of the Chicago Music Guide is to provide quality information that is relevant and timely with a focus on the music industry.
Chicago Music Guide was founded by Dennis M. Kelly in 2004 and started from the simple desire to help friends, but with Chicago’s vast array of great talent, the site grew quickly from there.
A number of the staff members of the Chicago Music Guide is either currently a musician themselves or used to be a musician at one time. We have the insider’s perspective on what musicians would need and want to see and we strive hard to give it to them.
Chicago Music Guide is dedicated to working with all entities of the music and entertainment industry, such as record companies and their publicists.

Founded in 2007, Betta Promotions head Rebecca Lopez heads the fastest-growing underground All Ages promotional company in Chicago! Betta Promotions picks from the numerous amount of local band talent, to pack places at respectable venues such as Subterranean, Beat Kitchen, Schubas, Lincoln Hall, Empty Bottle, Metro etc. Betta Promotions helps bands at different levels in their career and works so closely with the them that its no wonder they keep coming back.
Rebecca firmly believes in her business plan and to bring that to fruition, patience is a virtue. Remember back in the day when you went to shows and they were only $5? Remember when your friends were the “promoters” for your band? Betta Promotions’ mission is to keep that vibe alive. “I think the reason bands and fans alike are backing us up is because it’s the real deal. We really are in this for the bands, and not the money. They see this, so they support it,” explains Rebecca.
Just like their myspace page says, “Musicians want to be heard, venues want to be remembered and fans are willing to be found. No matter what, we are in it together”.
