Rockstar Mayhem Tour 2008
Suicide Silence
Cricket Wireless – Chula Vista, San Diego
7/16/2008
Update: Check Suicide Silence out when they hit Vegas for Extreme Thing 2009!
Mitch
Suicide Silence is San Diego’s hometown boys on the Mayhem Tour. This metal quintet started off the days festivities to a large crowd on the Hot Topic stage. They didn’t waste time in making the crowd move. They opened with the heart pounder “Unanswered.” The fast paced hardcore metal didn’t stop there. Mitch, Suicide’s lead singer, introduced “Girl of Glass” as a love song. What did I expect? Not sure, what I heard was an even more heart crunching song that could woe any woman that loves the sound of walls of guitars and in your face metal.
Mike
Suicide Silence is not a boring band to watch.Their stage presence is huge and energetic. No wonder why their debut album, The Cleansing, broke records for Century Records.
Their set list for the day:
Unanswered
Bludgeoned to Death
Hands of a Killer
Price of Beauty
Girl of Glass
Fallen
No Pity for a Coward
Destruction Breakdown
Their fan base is quickly growing and for all the UK fans out there they will back to visit you this fall and back in the states in December.

[...] This wasn’t the first time we’ve covered these scream-o bad boys and it won’t be the last, some for obvious reasons. The boys were plagued with technical sound issues at the very beginning of their set but Mitch and the boys quickly rallied and changed the setlist up to accommodate. This didn’t bother the crowd a bit because Suicide fans were like a great plague that covered the crowd. There was a sea of black and white Suicide Silence shirts and they seemed to out number the rest of the other bands’ fan there. [...]
[...] Mastodon, Machine Head, Five Finger Death Punch, and The Red Chord. We snagged interviews with Suicide Silence, Underoath, Black Tide, and Mastodon. Watch for more Mayhem content in the next few days. Still [...]
