NAMM official kicked off today at the Anaheim Convention Center in California. It is a private trade show but that hasn’t stopped Dean Guitar and BitTorrent from giving music fans around the world a sneak peek into the show. Starting on Friday, January 20th at 6:45 p.m. to midnight, BitTorrent and Dean Guitars have teamed up to stream Dean’s NAMM Jam. Fans can watch the jam here: http://live.bittorrent.com/
If that weren’t enough, they are also streaming from Dean Guitar’s booth (Booth 5466B) on Saturday and Sunday from NAMM. Fans can get a glimpse of the likes of Testament and Jackyl. Also BitTorrent is giving away a free Dean guitar during the NAMM Jam and fans can enter here and tune in here to see if they won!
This partnership is testing BitTorrent’s new live peer-to-peer streaming protocol that was invented by Bram Cohen, BitTorrent’s founder and chief scientist. This live peer-to-peer streaming aims to eliminate the cost of expensive servers, infrastructure, and reduce delays/buffering in the stream.
