Alice In Chains - 2013 Carolina Rebellion

Carolina Rebellion returned to North Carolina for the third incarnation of the hard rock music festival on May 4 and 5 at Rock City Campgrounds near Charlotte Motor Speedway. Expanding to a two-day event for the first time, this years festival started on a high note Saturday before slamming to a halt on Sunday due to inclement weather. Though many fans walked away disgruntled, canceling the majority of acts on Sunday was the right choice considering the tragic loss of life at similar events over the past few years during severe storms.

Jägermeister, which translates to “master hunter”, is the #1 selling imported liqueur in the United States and one of the top shot brands in the world. The liqueur is based on a secret recipe, combining 56 different natural ingredients, including select herbs, blossoms, roots and fruits from every corner of the globe. Jägermeister, with the distinctive square bottle, was developed in 1934 in Germany and the brand quickly gained global fame through its innovative marketing, unique taste profile and its association with good times. Jägermeister Liqueur is 35% Alc. /Vol. and imported exclusively by Sidney Frank Importing Company, Inc., New Rochelle, Jägermeister is available in the following sizes in the United States: 50ml, 100ml, 200ml, 375ml, 750ml, 1L, 1.75L.  JÄGERMEISTER IS DEDICATED TO MUSIC, NOT UNDERAGE DRINKING

Buckcherry’s fifth studio album, All Night Long, their first since the band’s move back to top independent rock label Eleven Seven Music, recently debuted at #10 on theBillboard Top 200 album chart and was the #1 Rock debut.  All Night Long has won rave reviews from fans and critics alike including iTunes pick for one of the Top Rock Albums of the Year. The New York Post called the album “a fun rock n’ roll tribute to hedonism,” while Classic Rock said, “It’s about a band playing to its instincts and leaving you with the promise that the winning streak ain’t no fluke.” Kerrang! added, “The party is back on,” and Spin dubbed Buckcherry, “Fist-pumping anthem-makers.”  The band continued their Top 10 success worldwide as they debuted at #7 on the overall chart in Canada (their highest chart position to date there) and scored their first Top 10 chart positions in the UK at #6 on the Independent Albums and #5 on the Rock and Metal charts, respectively. In their more than decade-long career, multi-platinum artists Buckcherry have established themselves as a definitive hard rock band with a massive presence at both radio and on the road. Hits such as “Lit Up” and “Sorry” have propelled the band’s sales to more than 3 million albums worldwide and have garnered Buckcherry two Grammy Nominations. 2008’s Black Butterfly earned the band their first-ever Top 10 Billboard album debut, with the album coming in at #8.  Black Butterfly was deemed the “Album of the Year” byEntertainment Weekly and “Best Rock Album” by iTunes.

Hellyeah is a supergroup comprised of Grammy nominated and chart topping musicians.  Drummer Vinnie Paul from Pantera (over 20 million selling, one of the only metal bands to debut at #1 on the Billboard album chart), vocalist Chad Gray and guitarist Greg Tribbett hail from Mudvayne (Grammy nominated, 3.3 million selling, #1 most played single at Active Rock Radio in 2009), guitarist Tom Maxwell and bassist Bob Zilla hail from highly credible rock acts Nothingface and Damageplan, respectively. Hellyeah’s debut album has sold nearly 400,000 copies in the U.S. and produced two Top 10 Active Rock singles. Their newest albumStampede debuted at #8 on the Billboard Top 200 and has sold over 90,000 copies to date fueled by the Top 5 single “Hell of a Time” and the fast climbing “Better Man.”

One of hard rock’s preeminent breakthrough success stories of recent years, the Massachusetts-based quintet All That Remains has built its career on overcoming the odds. From cracking the Billboard Top 10 with 2010’s For We Are Many, to joining the elite Active Rock radio fraternity, to being one of just a handful of acts to take part in the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, Ozzfest and Vans Warped Tour trifecta, All That Remains has shattered previously-held expectations about just how far a band with roots in independent heavy metal can go.

The Damned Things, with members Scott Ian and Rob Caggiano of Anthrax; Keith Buckley from Every Time I Die; and Joe Trohman and Andy Hurley of Fall Out Boy are undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with.  The Damned Things’ debut albumIroniclast (released December 14, 2010) which combines their love of classic rock anthems and powerful melodies with a heavy metal intensity, turns out to be much more than the sum of separate parts.

Synergy Global Entertainment, Inc. is the United States’ premier traveling festival production company.  SGE produces the Jägermeister Music Tours as well as the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival and co-produces the worldwide Rockstar Taste of Chaos as well as the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.  In 2010 alone, SGE will produce over 125 Large Music Festival Events in over 100 cities in 15 countries throughout the world with attendance in excess of 1 million people.  Company principals John Reese and John Oakes have a combined 32 years of experience in artist management, large scale festival production and brand integration and have worked with artists as diverse as Guns N’ Roses and The Cure. SGE excels at integrating brands’ needs with large scale musical entertainment.

Dedicating the song to today’s disenfranchised youth,Buckcherry frontman Josh Todd comments, “I had real issues with authority figures growing up.  I wanted to write about the authority figures in my life who told me I’d never amount to anything.  It’s a big “fuck you” to all those people.” Buckcherryguitarist Keith Nelson adds, “(It’s) one of those songs that marries the greasy rock and punk elements together. Guess I’m on board now, and I look forward to adding to the site as much and as often as possible. Why not begin with working the AMA preparty at House of Petals in LA. As Jessica mentioned I am a troublesome friend. Troublesome in that I know how to party and love to meet new people everywhere I go. And boy did we meet people, celebs, rockstars, up and comings, and various other influential people. The vendors were plenty and very giving, and the food was simply exquisite. Among the celebs that showed up for the night were Andy Dick, Tim Daley (well known for Wings), Crossing Jordan’s Steve Valentine, Boxer Tarick Salamaci from the Contender, Cast members from LA’s Wicked, and many, many more! Among the well known artists were Buckcherry and Weezer. Also there was an up and coming band called Jay with a cd release scheduled for 2008. The exquisite food I mentioned was provided by Lu Concierge. There was never a shortage of tasty treats and the staff was very pleasant to work with. Let’s not forget that we were there to work and work we did. The early hours were spent assisting the vendors with set-up and the day was spent running a silent auction to raise money for Rock for MS. The celebs were all quite gracious in listening to our little pitch and signed the two books we had up for the auction. The books are called Uncommon Sound and are a catalogue of the most amazing artists who were left handed and made a huge impact on music. I can tell you that theLiveHub scored this particular item from the auction. What I won’t tell you is how much it cost! Let’s just remember that it was for a great cause.

I Drove 3 hours to Los Angeles and got this!

What do you get when you mix Andy Dick, BuckCherry, and a $40 parking ticket from the city of Los Angeles?

Details tomorrow when I can keep my eyes open…
