There’s nothing like a man in uniform even if it’s Adidas. The Adidas clad Jonathan Davis and the Korn crew are co-headlining the Monster Energy Music as a Weapon Tour, which kicked off last night in Bloomington, IL. Yes, Bloomington in all its college glory! The band recently hit the pavement in Europe to share their new chronicles via their new album Korn III – Remember Who You Are.
Korn hit the stage around 8:30 which we all thought was a pretty early start, but who knows, maybe the young whipper-snappers needed to get home to go study or sleep (curfew). By the time 9:30 hit the set was nearly finished.
Jonathan was spot on and it felt like I was listening to their albums with some spectacular 3D visual effects and amazing surround sound. From the sounds of it, the entire band was right on target and in the zone. Munky especially looked happy to be onstage. No one could wipe the smile off his painted face. During the set Jonathan would thank the crowd for coming. He was profusely grateful to the fans for packing the Coliseum on the first night of the tour.
This was my first time seeing Korn and with everything the band and Jonathan Davis have been through personally and as a band, such as the departure of original members Brian “Head” Welch and David Silveria departing in 2005 and 2006 respectively, they all looked healthy, energized, and ready to rock.
