There are 13 great reasons to love the Sick Puppies. All thirteen reasons can be summed up into on word Tri-Polar. The Sick Puppies latest release Tri-Polar off Virgin Records is the best release from the Australian Trio.
Now based in Los Angeles, the Australian natives release Tri-Polar back in July of this year to nothing but fabulous reviews.
Tri-Polar is filled with aggressive angry rock and roll. The anger hits the ground running with “War.” Oh yes, they would like to start one. If Shimon Moore didn’t draw you in with his catchy chorus of war the fight chat will. Continuing with the angry theme of Tri-Polar is “I Hate You” which is a fucked up love song, think Puddle of Mudd “Control.” The best is Emma opening “You’re Going Down.” Mind you the 3 songs previously mentioned are the first 3 songs on the album. “You’re Going Down” is about a man that wants some confrontation and asks his opponent how he’d like to be taken down. My favorite lyric from the song, “When my fist hits your face, and your face hits the floor. It’ll be a long time coming…” Trust me this is great music for your car ride to work.
The entire album is heavy rock until track 13 with “White Balloons” Emma takes lead vocal with Shimon and creates a big ending for the record. Honestly it’s THE track on the album. Tri-Polar is an entirely radio rock album minus the word fuck that is slurred all over it, but other than that we are looking at a band that will be making bigger and bigger waves in the alternative metal scene.
They are currently on tour with Breaking Benjamin and Virgin label mates Adelitas Way.
